The main object of this study is to develop a big vertical opening bottom trawl (GOV) adapted to the Tunisian fisheries. Two models of trawls were tested. One for a trawler with 600 horse power engine and another model for a trawler with 900 horse power engine. The obtained results in this study show that the two models of trawls tested are efficient, especially in the areas where we found benthic and pelagic species together. Further more, the yield of these trawls is higher than that of the shrimp’s trawl, the most gear used in Tunisian water.
Ce présent travail consiste à étudier et mettre au point un chalut de fond à Grande Ouverture Verticale (GOV) adapté aux pêcheries tunisiennes. Deux modèles de chalut ont été essayés. Un modèle pour un bateau d’une puissance motrice égale à 600 CV (chalut GOV 43/32) et un deuxième modèle pour une puissance motrice de 900 CV (chalut GOV 55/42).Les résultats obtenus au cours de cette étude montrent que les deux modèles essayés sont efficaces dans les pêcheries tunisiennes et en particulier dans les zones de concentration de poissons benthiques et pélagiques en même temps. Par ailleurs, le rendement horaire des ces deux chaluts est largement supérieur à celui du chalut crevettier classique utilisé par la profession.
