| Aus Gründen einer genügenden Wasser- und Nährstoffversorgung bedarf der Baumstreifen in Niederstammanlagen einer Beikrautregulierung. Erfolgt diese ohne Herbizide wird der Baumstreifen entweder mit organischen Materialien (Baumrinde, Holzhäcksel, Stroh) oder wasserdurchlässigem Kunststoffgewebe abgedeckt oder durch Hacken mit Spezialgeräten offen gehalten. Beide Methoden bergen jedoch gewichtige Nachteile in sich. Bei der Abdeckung sind dies die hohen Materialkosten, der z. T. hohe Kalieintrag (Erhöhung der Stippegefahr) und der erhöhte Mäusedruck. Das herkömmliche Hacken ist zeitintensiv, die Anschaffungs- und Wartungskosten geeigneter Hackgeräte sind hoch. Beim Sandwich-System bleibt ein schmales Band im Zentrum des Baumstreifens unbearbeitet. Links... |

| Der Biolandbau benötigt dringend angepasste Sorten. Die Biopflanzenzüchtung soll deshalb vorangetrieben werden. Ein Schritt in diese Richtung ist das Vernetzen der verschiedenen Akteure. An der ersten Biopflanzenzüchtungstagung am FiBL in Frick stand das Vorstellen der nationalen und europäischen Pflanzenzüchtungsprojekte im Vordergrund. |

| Damage of leaf spot, caused by Mycosphaerella fragariae and gray mold also called Botrytis fruit rot, caused by Botrytis cinerea, average fruit weight and yield were evaluated with regard to cultural methods over two years. Leaf spot damage decreased significantly by around 90 % due to leaf sanitation (removal of dead and leaf spot infected leaves in early spring) and by 50 % due to plantation in a one-row-system instead of a two-row-system. When all leaves including the healthy green ones were removed in early spring average fruit weight decreased significantly by 10 %. | Hauptziel des Sortenteams, das aus Vertretern von Coop, Abpackbetrieben, Produzenten und des FiBL besteht, ist die möglichst effiziente Optimierung des Sortenangebotes von biologischen Früchten nach sensorischen, agronomischen und ökologischen Kriterien. Das Sortenteam wählt aus bereits vorgeprüften Sorten solche aus, die bestehende Sortimentslücken schliessen oder bisherige Sorten verbessern könnten. Diese "Team-Sorte" wird auf 2-4 Bio-Betrieben im Vertragsanbau produziert. | Ziel der Apfel-Sortenprüfung des FiBL ist die spezifische Prüfung robuster oder resistenter Sorten unter Bedingungen des Bioanbaus aber auch des Biomarktes. Wenn immer möglich gilt es, möglichst rasch, eine Auswahl an Sorten zusammenzustellen mit denen auch grössere, auf Tafelobstbau spezialisierte Betriebe sowohl gute Erfolge im Anbau als auch auf dem Markt erzielen können. Damit die Resultate der Sortenprüfung mit möglichst viel Sicherheit auch für unterschiedliche Anbaugebiete und Lagen gelten, prüfen wir die Apfelsorten sowohl in Exaktversuchen auf dem Institutsgelände wie auch in einem Ringversuch auf zur Zeit 6 Biobetrieben. | In recent years, an increasing market for blueberries has developed in Switzerland. Blueberries are well suited for organic production because few disease and insect pests are currently found under Swiss conditions. Soil conditions present the greatest obstacle to blueberry cultivation in that Swiss soils are often too alkaline and have low soil organic matter content. | In 1995, an experiment was planted at Wädenswil for comparing organic and integrated apple production. The overall goal of this experiment was to develop a data set which allows for an objective overall comparison of the two production concepts. Horticultural, ecological and economical traits were looked at. In practical terms, the study should particularly clarify how suitable the two systems are for producing marketable fresh fruit under Swiss conditions. | Production of Vaccinium corymbosum L. is limited to acidic soils with high organic matter content. This specific soil requirement is limiting the possibilities to cultivate V. corymbosum L. in many regions of Central Europe. The aim of this study was to overcome the limiting production factors occurring under the soil and climate conditions of Switzerland: (1) evaluation of natural growing substrates without peat as required for organic production; (2) adjustment of the optimal pH in the growing substrate; (3) regulation of water issues (water quality and mulching) and (4) development of a suited planting system.
