ABSTRACT Weeds have the potential to dramatically interfere in cassava cultivation, reducing its productive potential; however, there are few studies on the selective herbicides in this crop. Therefore, the objective was to evaluate in this work the selectivity and efficiency of sulfentrazone in cassava crops grown in sandy and clayey soils. Two experiments were carried out: The first one was carried out in sandy soil conditions in the conventional system; and the second one was carried out in clayey soil conditions in the no-tillage system. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replications. The treatments consisted in doses of 250, 500, 750 and 1,000 g ha-1 of sulfentrazone, and weeded and non-weeded controls. Sulfentrazone application... |

ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to evaluate the chemical control of the species C. benghalensis and C. erecta with desiccants alone and mixtures, as well as the spreading of spray droplets on the leaf surfaces. The experimental design was completely randomized in a 2 x 16 factorial arrangement with four replications, totaling 32 treatments and 128 plots. The first factor is related to the species C. benghalensis and C. erecta and the second factor corresponds to the treatments carfentrazone-ethyl in doses of 15, 30, 60 g ha-1, which added 0.5% v v-1 adhesive spreader; glufosinate ammonium at doses of 100, 200, 400 g ha-1, added 0.5% v v-1 mineral oil; glyphosate at 240, 480, 960 g ha-1; carfentrazone-ethyl + glufosinate ammonium in doses of 100,... |

ABSTRACT: The intensive use of glyphosate can select resistant populations. This study aimed at evaluating the occurrence of glyphosate resistance in populations of D. insularis in agricultural areas. Three experiments were conducted in randomized block experimental design with four replications. The Resistance Degree (RD) was determined by a dose-response curve in the evaluated populations: Experiment 2012, São Camilo (R01 and R02) and Palotina (R03, R04 and S05-susceptible); Experiment 2013 Palotina (R06 and R12), Katueté/Paraguay (R07), Toledo (R08 and R10), Cascavel (R09), São Miguel do Iguaçu (R11), Dom Eliseu/Pará (S13-susceptible); Experiment 2015 Nova Aurora (R14), Iracema do Oeste (R15 and R16), Jesuitas (R17 and R18), Tupãssi (R19), Jotaesse... |

ABSTRACT: The effectiveness of a new product has a great importance to weed control, especially those that are difficult to control or resistant to, such as the sumatran fleabane (Conyza sumatrensis). The objective of this research was to evaluate the control of C. sumatrensis at different growth stages, using halauxifen-methyl in combination with other herbicides. The experimental design used was a randomized blocks in a 3x10 factorial scheme, with four replications. The plants of C. sumatrensis were evaluated at different growth: stage 1: plants with 8 leaves; Stage 2: plants with 19 leaves and stage 3: plants with 45 leaves fully expanded. The herbicides used were the association of glyphosate with the herbicides 2,4-D at 806, 943 and 1,209 g a.e. ha-1,... |

ABSTRACT: Selecting glyphosate-resistant Digitaria insularis may cause changes in the biological cycle of the species. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the biological cycle of susceptible and glyphosate-resistant D. insularis biotypes in two growth periods (summer/autumn and autumn/winter). Seeds were collected in the municipality of Alagoa Grande (07o02’59" S 35o37’01,5" W), and were considered susceptible (S1), in Cascavel (24o55’27" S 53o27’54.6 ”W) considered as resistant 1 (R1), Entre Rios do Oeste (24o40’44" S 54o17’05" W) considered as resistant 2 (R2) and Marechal Cândido Rondon (24o42’30" S 54o21’10" W) considered as resistant 3 (R3). Evaluations were carried out in the summer/autumn and autumn/winter periods. The collection... |
