| Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de períodos de condicionamento alimentar sobre o desempenho produtivo e a sobrevivência de juvenis de pirarucu (Arapaima gigas), durante a transição da alimentação com massa de peixe moída para dieta formulada seca. Animais com 15,8±1,2 g foram avaliados com substituições graduais da dieta a cada 2, 3, 4 e 5 dias. Após 12 dias de condicionamento alimentar, as substituições a cada dois e três dias proporcionaram as maiores taxas de crescimento específico. Recomenda-se a substituição da dieta à base de peixe moído por dieta formulada seca a cada dois ou três dias. |

| The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different water salinities on juvenile Hoplias lacerdae during feed training. Salinity levels of 0, 3, 6 and 9 g salt L-1 were used. Juveniles (3.33±0.1 cm and 0.6±0.09 g) were stocked at a density of six fish L-1 in aquaria (10 L volume) with supplementary aeration. Weight gain, length gain, and rates of survival, mortality, and cannibalism were evaluated after 20 days. Total mortality was observed in 0 g of salt L-1. The best survival rates of 98.7 and 97.5% were recorded in 3 and 6 g of salt L-1, respectively. The greatest weight gain was recorded in fish grown in 3 g of salt L-1 followed by fish grown in 6 g of salt L-1. Length gain was similar in the 3 and 6 g salt L-1 groups. No weight or... |

| The objective of this study was to assess the possibility of increasing the stocking density in the larviculture of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, in saline water. Six-day post-hatched larvae (average weight of 0.09±0.002 g), at the start of the exogenous feeding, were stocked in twelve 8 L tanks at densities of 1, 10, 20 and 30 larvae/L. The larvae were fed a diet consisting of 40% crude protein five times per day. During larviculture, water was kept at a salinity of 2 g of common salt/L. At the end of the 28-day experiment, the survival rate, length, weight, temperature, water salinity and conductivity were not affected by the different treatments. | Abstract Lophiosilurus alexandri is an endemic catfish from the São Francisco River Basin (Brazil) popularly known as pacamã, which has economic potential for aquaculture farming. The mitochondrial genome was sequenced for the threatened Neotropical catfish L. alexandri. Assembly into scaffolds using MIRA and MITObim software produced the whole, circularized mitochondrial genome, which comprises 16,445 bp and presents the typical gene arrangement of Teleostei mitochondria. A phylogenomic analysis was performed after the concatenation of all proteins obtained from whole mitogenomes of 20 Siluriformes and two outgroups. | The establishment of evaluation parameters for larvae and juvenile quality assessment is highly desirable. The experiment evaluated the Stress Resistance Rate (Re) on Hoplias lacerdae larvae and juveniles. Larvae on the 13th, 16th, 19th, 23rd and 26th days of life were subjected to Re evaluation tests. Twenty animals were stoked in one liter beaker and kept at 27 to 28.5°C. The following treatments were applied: E3 -3 minutes; E5 - 5 minutes; E7 - 7 minutes; E10 - 10 minutes and E15 -15 minutes on drying paper. After 24 hours Re was evaluated.
