Auswirkungen von neem- und pyrethrinhaltigen Pflanzenschutzmitteln auf den Naturhaushalt Organic Eprints

Während die im Zulassungsverfahren bislang eingereichten Daten für Neem und NeemAzal T/S im wesentlichen die Anforderungen der Anhänge II und III der EU-Richtlinie 91/414/EWG abdecken, bestehen bei Pyrethrin und den Pyrethrum-Präparaten noch zahlreiche Datenlücken. Die Anwendung von Pyrethrumpräparaten im Freiland ist mit geeigneten Risikominimierungsmaßnahmen zum Schutz aquatischer Organismen zu verbinden. Für NeemAzal-T/S sind keine Risikominimierungsmaßnahmen zum Schutz aquatischer Biozönosen erforderlich. Aus den vielen Einzeldaten zu den Bereichen »Verbleib«, »Mobilität« und »Auswirkungen auf aquatische und terrestrische Nichtzielorganismen« ergibt sich ein klares Gesamtbild: Neem-Präparate sind aus Sicht des Naturhaushaltes wesentlich günstiger zu...

Der Ersatz von Kupfer und anderen Pestiziden ist eine der dringlichen Aufgaben der Forschung im biologischen Landbau. Beim direkten Pflanzenschutz stehen fungizid wirkende Substanzen, Biocontrol-Organismen und Pflanzenstärkungsmittel zur Diskussion. Das Konzept der Pflanzenstärkung ist seit langem im biologischen Landbau bekannt. Beispielsweise werden Kompostextrakte, Brennesselextrakte, aber auch kommerzialisierte Produkte aus Reynoutria sachalinensis oder Backpulver eingesetzt. Unter den Resistenzinduktoren (Elicitoren) sind vor allem diejenigen von grossem Interesse, die Resistenz gegen Pathogene auslösen, die ansonsten mit Kupfer bekämpft werden (Tamm, 2000). Backweizen ist eines der wichtigsten Produkte des ökologischen Landbaus, dessen Erzeugung in Hinblick auf die erforderliche Qualität leider großen Schwankungen und Risiken unterworfen ist. Zur Synthese von Eiweiß, im Falle der Backqualität von Korneiweiß, ist eine genügende N-Nachlieferung aus dem Boden in späten Wachstumsstadien nach der Blüte notwendig. Autumn acaricide applications as a new strategy to control the pear leaf blister mite Eriophyes pyri Organic Eprints

The pear leaf blister mite Eriophyes pyri (Pagenstecher) causes severe damage to pear leaves and fruits. As mites are well sheltered from exposure to plant protection agents during summer and acaricide efficacy is reduced when temperatures are low in early spring, autumn acaricide applications were evaluated to control mites as they migrate to their hibernation sites. Post-harvest sulphur and mineral oil treatments were applied in September 2003 and mites were monitored in the following spring. Only the sulphur treated trees were virtually free of blisters. Autumn applications of sulphur – a new approach to control the pear leaf blister mite Eriophyes pyri Organic Eprints

The pear leaf blister mite can cause severe damages to pear trees. By their hidden way of living inside the leaf blisters, the mites are protected from plant protection agents. Until now, oil treatments in early spring, when the mites leave their hibernation sites and invade the young leaves, are the only possibility to control these mites. Because of the low temperatures during this period (February/ March) the efficacy of pesticides is often not reliable. Bacillus polymyxa som växttillväxtbefrämjande och stresstoleransinducerande bakterier Organic Eprints
Forskare vid SLU har under det senaste året visat att markbakterien Bacillus polymyxa kan skydda växter mot växtpatogenen Erwinia samt förbättra växtens motståndskraft mot torka. I detta nya forskningsprojekt är syftet att undersöka på vilket sätt bakterien åstadkommer dessa effekter. Framför allt undersöks förändringar i växtens genuttryck. Markbakterier kommunicerar med varandra genom signalsubstanser, som också kan påverka växters tillväxt. Forskarna ska även undersöka dessa substanser för att kunna renframställa tillväxtbefrämjande ämnen. Projektet finansieras av spannmåls- och oljeväxtproducenter via Stiftelsen Lantbruksforskning.

Backqualität von Winterweizen in Bio- und Extenso Prüfungen Organic Eprints

Winter wheat trials have been carried out from 2002 to 2007 under extensive or organic conditions. The results of baking quality analyses have been compared for the same varieties, cultivated under both conditions during the same year. Rheological analyses generally show lower results for the varieties cultivated under organic conditions when baking tests result nearly identical in both networks. Wet gluten is an important baking quality parameter for the users. The percentage of wet gluten is not correlated with the gluten index, the extensographe energy or the points obtained by the baking tests. This parameter alone cannot be used for determination of the baking quality.

Bait sprays against the European cherry fruit fly Rhagoletis cerasi: Status Quo & Perspectives Organic Eprints

Bait spray experiments against Rhagoletis cerasi were carried out in 2005 to 2007. The main principle of this method is to use food (e.g. sugar and proteins) as baits for the flies with small amounts of insecticides, which is applied on parts of the cherry tree. Main focus was aimed at laboratory and field cage experiments using the commercial GF-120 Naturalyte Fruit Fly BaitTM with the insecticide spinosad, which is registered against North American cherry fruit fly species in the US and Canada. In 2005 initial experiments were carried out to control Rhagoletis cerasi with bait sprays. We used GF-120 fruit fly bait which contains Spinosad and NeemAzal®-T/S mixed in a sugar-yeast hydrolysate solution. 30 ml of bait sprays were applied on single cherry trees in field cages, where we released a defined number of cherry fruit flies. One experiment with GF-120 resulted in a reduction of fruit infestation of 96 % compared with the control. In other trials with GF-120 and Neem bait the effect on the cherry fruit fly population was monitored. After 24 hours GF-120 in a 5 % and 20 % solution led to a high reduction of flies (efficacy 85 %), whereas NeemAzal®-T/S in a 5 %, 10 %, and 20 % solution only resulted in efficacies between 34 % and 42 %. Bitkilerin çoğu çiçek tozlarının yayılmasında, böceklere bağımlıdır. Bal arıları (Apis mellifera L.); bal, bal mumu, arı sütü, propolis ve polen gibi gıda, ilaç, kozmetik ve diğer bazı sanayilerde büyük değeri olan ürünleri üretmektedir. Basic results in biological control of the European Cherry Fruit Fly Rhagoletis cerasi L. (Diptera: Tephritidae) with entomopathogenic nematodes Organic Eprints

In 2002 and 2003, within the ‚Bundesprogramm Ökologischer Landbau’, initial experiments to control the European cherry fruit fly Rhagoletis cerasi were carried out under laboratory, semi-field and field conditions with several entomopathogenic nematode species and strains. In the laboratory the efficacy of nematodes against R. cerasi larvae, pupae and adults was examined. To characterize the controlling potential, different nematode dosages, exposure temperatures and substrates were tested in cell wells, petri dishes and plastic boxes. Naturalis® is a bioinsecticide based on living conidiospores of the naturally occuring Beauveria bassiana strain ATCC 74040. The entomopathogenic fungus acts primarily by contact: once attached to the insect’s cuticle, the conidiospores germinate producing penetration hyphae, which enter and proliferate inside the insect’s body. The fungus invades and feeds on its host, causing its death due to dehydration and/or depletion of nutrients. Im ökologisch bewirtschafteten Grünland stellen die Ampfer-Arten ein besonderes Problem dar. Aufgrund ihrer differenzierten Vermehrungs- und Überlebensstrategie können sie bislang nicht effektiv und vor allem nicht nachhaltig reguliert werden. Die Zielsetzung des vorliegenden Projektes besteht in der Evaluierung von bestehenden Strategien zur Regulierung der Ampfer-Arten im ökologisch bewirtschafteten Grünland und der Ableitung von neuen Handlungsempfehlungen.
