En esta ponencia se aborda el problema de las disparidades de la agricultura espanola y los problemas a que estas dan lugar. En primer lugar se analizan los principales elementos de disparidad en relacion con las limitaciones del sector agrario espanol. A partir del enfoque actual de modernizacion agraria se presentanlas disparidades existentes entre las agriculturas de las diferentes comunidades autonomas. La comparacion entre la agricultura espanola y la de los paises de la Union Europea se utiliza para profundizar en la dimension de aquellas disparidades en relacion con el papel de la Politica Agraria Europea como posible instrumento de convergencia. COST OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE ACQUIS COMMUNAUTAIRE IN THE HUNGARIAN DAIRY SECTOR AgEcon

The implementation and enforcement of the acquis communautaire is a precondition for joining the European Union (EU). However, there is only little information on the compliance costs in the acceding countries. In this paper, the investment needs and annual costs of compliance with the part of the acquis communautaire relevant for the dairy sector is assessed at different stages of the agri-food chain in Hungary. The assessment is mainly based on a classification of farms and processors according to their level of compliance with EU standards concerning milk hygiene in 2000/01 and calculations of necessary investments in buildings, milking and cooling facilities and delivery trucks. China’s Agricultural Modernisation Program: an assessment of its sustainability and impacts in the case of the high-value beef chain AgEcon

China has embarked on a major program to modernise agricultural and agribusiness structures with far reaching implications for rural development, international competitiveness / trade and food safety. There are, however, few studies that examine in detail how the modernisation program has proceeded, its’ sustainability and impacts. This paper aims to provide such as assessment through a series of integrated budget analyses of participants in the modern, high value beef chain. Megállapítható, hogy a globalizációval együtt járó modernizációs és életminőség-javító folyamatok a tradíciókat csak igen lassan és korántsem teljes egészében váltják fel. A táplálkozási kultúrában kettősség érvényesül, fokozatosan billentve a mérleget a korhoz igazodó étkezési szokások felé. Különösen értékesek ezek a tapasztalatok az ázsiai piacon kereskedelmi szándékkal megjelenők számára. Megállapítható, hogy miközben folyamatosan nő a fizetőképes középrétegek és a foglalkoztatottak, így a korszerűbb élelmezési szokásokkal megismerkedők száma, ez mind magasabb minőségi elvárásokkal párosul. A helyi adottságoktól függően ez a mérsékeltebben feldolgozott termékek iránti igényt, vagy éppen csúcsminőség megkövetelését jelentheti. Bizonyos, hogy folytatódik...
