Replacing clean fallow with minimum tilled pulse legume in a subtropical dryland at Pothwar, Pakistán Agrociencia
Sohail-Ijaz,Shahzada; Ali,Safdar.
Clean fallowing has been criticized in the recent past due to the fact that it causes accelerated soil erosion, emission of CO2 to the atmosphere and reduction in farm income. In an effort to reduce fallowing in Pothwar, Pakistan, field experiments were carried out from 2005 through 2008 at three locations (Rawalpindi, Chakwal and Fateh Jang). The experimental design was split-plot and treatments were applied as follows: conventional cultivator, moldboard plow and minimum tillage in main plots; fallow, legume (mungbean, Vigna radiata) and mulch of wheat straw were used in sub plots. Wheat (Triticum aestivum) was planted in all the subplots during winter. All the treatment plots had equivalent volumetric water content at wheat planting. Consequently, the...

SSR-Marker assisted evaluation of Genetic Diversity in Mungbean ( Vigna radiata (L.) Wilcezk) genotypes BABT
Kaur,Gunnjeet; Joshi,Arunabh; Jain,Devendra.
ABSTRACT Mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) also known as green gram is an important source of protein in the category of food legumes. In the present study, SSR marker is used to analyze the genetic diversity amongst 23 genotypes of mungbean. Out of a total of 10 primers used for SSR analysis revealed generation of 15 alleles. The number of alleles per locus ranged from one (CEDG006, CEDG010, CEDG050, CEDG088, CEDG092 and CEDG232) to three (CEDG 214), with an average of 1.5 allele per primer. The index for expected heterozygosity was 0.29 ranging from 0.15 to 0.49 revealed a deficit in heterozygosity. The size of amplification products varied in case of each primer and the range was found to be 100 bp to 190 bp. 13 out of 15 alleles were found...

Seletividade de herbicidas e eficácia no controle de plantas daninhas na cultura do feijão-mungo-verde. Infoteca-e

Assessing the Competitive Ability of Rhynchosia capitata; an Emerging Summer Weed in Asia Planta Daninha
Ali,H.H.; Tanveer,A.; Naeem,M.; Jamil,M.; Iqbal,M.; Chadhar,A.R.; Kashif,M.S..
Rhynchosia capitata is a newly emerging threatening weed of summer crops in many Asian countries. We conducted 2-yr experiments to evaluate R. capitata competition with mungbean under irrigated conditions. Rhynchosia capitata was allowed to compete with mungbean for 0, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 weeks after planting and for full crop season. The competitive ability of R. capitata was assessed by measuring its dry weight, micro and macro nutrient contents and uptake; and its effects on mungbean growth and yield parameters. The results showed that full season weed competition produced highest dry weight of R. capitata and its macro and micronutrient contents and uptake. Yield and yield components of mungbean decreased in a linear fashion with increase in competition...

แบบจำลองการเจริญเติบโตและผลผลิตของถั่วเขียว โดยใช้โครงข่ายประสาทเทียม Thai Agricultural
Supatsorn Kumbor; Hatsachai Boonjung; Arthit Srikaew.
Most of crop modeling is mechanistic model whereas the objective of this study was to predict mungbean growth and yield by artificial neural network (ANN). The experiment was 2 varieties (SUT1 and KPS2) x 2 water levels (rainfed and irrigation) x 3 fertilizer levels (12-24-12 rate 0, 15 and 30kg./rai) factorial experiment in RCBD 4 blocks growing for 2 seasons (no rainfed in the 2nd season). Data was collected for 10 replications in each plot. Using 560 sets of data from fertilizer rate of 0 and 30 kg/rai trained the ANN model by back propagation algorithm. The input variables were variety, fertilizer, irrigations, seasonal, growing degree day, rainfall, solar radiation and day after planting. The rest of 280 sets of data (only 15 kg/rai of fertilizer)...
