| Das Ziel des Vorhabens ist es, ein Netzwerk mit Akteuren aus der landwirtschaftlichen Praxis, der Beratung und der Forschung aufzubauen, um den gegenwärtigen Stand der Futterwirtschaft und Tierernährung im Ökologischen Landbau in einem geleiteten Diskussionsprozess aus der Sicht der Praxis und der Wissenschaft zu dokumentieren und Entwicklungsperspektiven aufzuzeigen. Aufbauend auf den Ergebnissen des Startworkshops (03OE475), der im Frühjahr 2005 stattgefunden hat, werden die Analysen und Bewertungen vertieft und weitere Akteure eingebunden. | This study was undertaken to estimate the antimicrobial resistance of Salmonella isolated from raw chicken. From November 2003 to April 2004 a total of 120 chicken carcasses were collected from 36 randomly selected sale points (supermarkets, traditional market, poultry slaughter house, flocks) in the urban and periurban zones of Dakar, Sénégal, and examined for the presence of Salmonella. Salmonella was isolated from 75 (62.5%) of the examined samples. Out of the 90 Salmonella isolates obtained, twenty one serotypes were identified, from which the most prevalent were S. | En musselodling är en flexibel och kostnadseffektiv miljöåtgärd för att minska övergödningens negativa effekter i marin miljö och som förväntas få stor betydelse för kretslopp av näring från hav till land. Musslorna skall användas för human konsumtion och i ekologiskt foder. Tekniken för att tillverka musselmjöl storskaligt till rimligt pris utreds i ett pågående projekt på Kristinebergs Marina Forskningsstation. Vidare pågår försök på SLU för att utvärdera musselmjöl som en ersättare för fiskmjöl och andra komponenter som idag används vid tillverkning av ekologiskt foder inom fjäderfänäringen. | The objective of this work was to evaluate the inter treatment discrimination according to feed conversion efficiency in several animal performance experiments. The variables investigated were: feed conversion ratio (FCR = intake: production ratio), feed efficiency index (FEI = production: intake ratio) and bio-nutritional index (BNI). The BNI was constructed from the first canonical variable obtained based on the multivariate analysis of variance of the intake and animal production (weight gain or milk production) variables. | On-farm research is well established in organic farming. The holistic approach considers the complexity of a farm, and the findings can be imple-mented immediately. As the experiments are often performed on single farms the results are difficult to transfer to other locations. Controlled experiments with animals on group level with representative sam-ples investigate single factors and lead to reliable and well-founded results. However, they are often far away from implementation into agricultural practise. Applied research requires an interplay of on farm research and controlled experiments. A series of ethological research work at research institute of organic agriculture in Switzerland should show how this interplay may take place. |

| Der Arbeitszeitbedarf für Legehennen in Bodenhaltung unterscheidet sich kaum von dem in der Volierenhaltung: Gesamtarbeitszeitbedarf und Verteilung auf die einzelnen Arbeitsgänge sind annähernd gleich. Der größte Arbeitszeitbedarf liegt mit einem Anteil von 53 % bei der Produktgewinnung. Die Betriebsführung macht einen Anteil von 17% am Gesamtarbeitszeitbedarf aus. Bei beiden Arbeiten handelt es sich um tägliche, meist mit hohem manuellem Aufwand verbundene Tätigkeiten. Produktgewinnung, Betriebsführung, Fütterung und Auslaufbewirtschaftung summieren sich auf 92 % des Arbeitszeitbedarfs. Einfluss auf den Arbeitszeitbedarf haben vor allem die Bestandsgröße und der Anteil an manuellen Tätigkeiten. |

| ABSTRACT: The effects of mycotoxins on the productive performance of growing pigs and broilers were evaluated using meta-analytical approach. Two databases were constructed: (1) Broilers, with information collected from 51,497 birds and published in 158 scientific papers from 1980 to 2016; and (2) Pigs, with information collected from 7,743 animals and published in 72 scientific papers from 1980 to 2015. The meta-analyses were performed independently for each specie, following three sequential analyses: graphical, correlation, and variance-covariance. | This study was conducted to determine the effect of the air temperature variation on the mean surface temperature (MST) of 7- to 35-day-old broiler chickens using infrared thermometry to estimate MST, and to study surface temperature variation of the wings, head, legs, back and comb as affected by air temperature and broiler age.
