Two new species of Roncus L. Koch, 1873 (R. svarozici n. sp. and R. svanteviti n. sp.), collected in eastern and southeastern Serbia, Yugoslavia, are described and their distribution is given. A supplementary description of R. pljakici Ćurčić, 1973, is provided as well. The taxonomic diversity of the western and southern European “Roncus lubricus” species complex is discussed in view of the importance of some diagnostic characters. The possible role of R. svarozici n. sp. and R. parablothroides Hadži, 1937 in colonizing caves is considered as well as the divergent differentiation of some Balkan subterranean pseudoscorpions. |

Foram registradas doze espécies de pseudoscorpiões, incluindo nove gêneros e cinco famílias, listadas a seguir: Chernetidae - Americhernes aff. incertus Mahnert, 1979, Cordylochernes scorpioides (Linnaeus 1758), Lustrochenes similis (Balzan 1892), L. aff. reimoseri Beier, 1932, L. intermedius (Balzan 1892), Phymatochernes crassimanus Mahnert 1979; Chthoniidae - Pseudochthonius homodentatus Chamberlin, 1929; Lechytiidae -... |

In pseudoscorpions identification to the species level can be difficult. In some genera, such as in Chthonius, chaetotaxy is a necessary tool to be able the differentiate between closely related species. The key characters to separate the closely related Chthonius tetrachelatus and C. kewi which were used until now turn out to be incorrect. In this paper new characters are proposed. Study of this group revealed that C. kewi, originally described from Britain, is probably not present in the Netherlands. Material identified previously as C. kewi, proved to belong to C. tetrachelatus. In this contribution an update of the key to the pseudoscorpion species of the Netherlands is presented. The total number of Dutch species is now 22. |
