Sôbre uma propriedade da equação utilizada para interpolação da Lei de Mitscherlich Anais da ESALQ
Nogueira,Izaias Rangel.
The author proves that equation, Σy n ΣZx | ΣxyZx ΣxZx ΣxZ2x | = 0, Σy ΣZx Σy2x | where Z = 10-cq and q is a numerical constant, used by Pimentel Gomes and Malavolta in several articles for the interpolation of Mitscherlih's equation y = A [ 1 - 10 - c (x + b) ] by the least squares method, always has a zero of order three for Z = 1. Therefore, equation A Zm + A1Zm -1 + ........... + Am = 0 obtained from that determinant can be divided by (Z-1)³. This property provides a good test for the correctness of the computations and facilitates the solution of the equation.

Some Remarks concerning subspecies of Ducula aenea from Celebes and surrounding Islands Naturalis
Hoogerwerf, A..
Though Schlegel (1866, p. 200) as well as Hartert (1898, p. 135) pointed out that Carpophaga paulina, described by Bonaparte (1850, p. 35) and now known as Ducula aenea paulina (Bp.), originating from the Sula Archipelago (East of the East Coast of Celebes) seemed not quite similar to birds from Celebes, lack of sufficient material refrained these authors from separating Sula birds. But this was done by Siebers (1929, p. 152/3) who separated them under the name Ducula aenea sulana, on account of their smaller wing measurements and the darker (more chestnut coloured) nuchal patch. The Sula birds should be also smaller than nuchalis from the Philippines and (doubtful) pulchella from Togian 2) which, according to Siebers, should belong to the same...

Substituição do farelo de trigo pelo farelo de sabugo de milho Anais da ESALQ
Trivelin,A. P..
Two 50 R. I. R. chicken groups were contrasted, both receiving the same basic-ration differing only in the content of wheat bran or corn cobs meal. One ration had 10% of wheat bran and in the other one the 10% of wheat bran has been substituted by 10% of corn cobs meal. It was found on the final weight a significant advantage of 12,8% with wheat bran. However, the development of chikens receiving corn cobs meal was quite normal.

Taxonomia de Coffea arabica L.: III - Coffea arabica L. var. anormalis Bragantia
Krug,C. A.; Carvalho,A.; Mendes,J. E. T..

The Algae transported on drifting objects and washed ashore on the Netherlands coast Naturalis
Lucas, J.A.W..
Little attention has been paid till now to the algae, transported to the Netherlands coast on drifting objects. About a century ago T. D. Vrijdag Zijnen and G. Bisschop (near Scheveningen, ± 1845), and L. H. Buse (between Wijk aan Zee and Zandvoort, ± 1840—1847) were the first to pay attention to this subject. The material collected, especially that by the first two investigators, is mentioned in the Prodromus Fl. Bat. (1853). The book of Van Goor (1923) contains a chapter on these algae, in which, however, only few new observations occur. The author is much indebted to Dr Josephine Th. Koster for her kind help, as well as to Dr S. J. v. Ooststroom. The material, collected by Vrijdag Zijnen, Bisschop and Buse is almost completely present in the collections...

The Anatomy of Natrix vittata (L.) Naturalis
Bergman, R.A.M..
MATERIAL AND PROBLEM For the investigation of the anatomical pattern of Natrix vittata, the same material was used as for the description of the life of this snake. A preliminary question was whether both groups from Surabaia and from Tjimahi may be used for statistical treatment as a single unit or if they represent different varieties. The animals are easily recognisable and there is no outward sign which would indicate a difference between the group from the eastern coastal plains and the one from the western hills although the distance between both localities is about 800 km. The range of the body length is for both groups the same, for adult males in Surabaia 341-441 and in Tjimahi 346-457, and for females 392-560 and 395-555. In none of the other...

The changes in the International Rules of Botanical Nomenclature made by the 7 th Int. Bot. Congress at Stockholm An unofficial review Naturalis
Wit, H.C.D. de.
The following is an abstract of my notes made during the sessions of the Section for Nomenclature at the 7th International Botanical Congress at Stockholm. The Congress lasted, officially, from 12 till 20 July, 1950. The Section for Nomenclature, however, began to meet on July 7. I wish to state that this review has no authority or official capacity. I made notes for private use and because it seemed useful, on further consideration, to inform the Staff and collaborators of the Flora Nalesiana.. of the changes in the Rules adopted by the last Congress, it was thought best to publish a review here, pending the official publication of the new Rules as a whole. I am told that an official note or communication dealing with the results obtained by the Section...

Ooststroom, S.J. van.
This paper on the Philippine species of Argyreia forms an addition to that published by the same author in Blumea V, 2, (1943) p. 352—383. As to the description of the genus, the limitation of it against Rivea and the inclusion in it of Lettsomia may be referred to what has been said on p. 353—356 of that publication.

The Distribution of Farming in New South Wales AgEcon
Kingsland, Alison M..
The purpose of this article is to provide a brief description of the pattern of farming in New South Wales as illustrated by the diagram map which is to be found at the back of this issue. The map shows the approximate location and extent of the regions where the chief rural products are produced. Symbols have been used to indicate the centres of production and the relative importance of some of the less significant products. On the basis of the type of fanning carried on, the State may be divided into several regions. tile dairying region of the Coast, the merino-mixed farming association of the Tablelands, the region of mixed farming based on wheat growing of the Slopes and eastern portion of the Plains and the extensive strong-wool merino region...

The genus Onchocalanus G.O. sars, 1905 (Crustacea Copepoda) Naturalis
Vervoort, W..
The genus Onchocalanus was established by G. O. Sars in 1905 for two remarkable new Copepods, collected in deep water of the Atlantic Ocean, which were named Onchocalanus trigoniceps and Onchocalanus hirtipes. Of both forms the females only were found. Sars' generic diagnosis is very short; he only states that his new genus Onchocalanus is closely related to Xanthocalanus Giesbr., 1892, from which it differs by the shape of the rostrum, which in Onchocalanus is strongly chitinized and has a bifurcated apical portion, by the unusually strong, curved claw on the extremity of the 2nd maxilla, by the long and slender maxillipeds, and by the spinulation of the four pairs of swimming legs. In addition in the two genera there are minor differences in the shape of...
