| This paper attempts to analyze gaps between policy goals and policy results realized through process of policy implementation, and to investigate the obstacles which make such gaps. Generally, policy goals are set up by central government with ambitions and detailed instruction, however, policy results turn out unsatisfactory when policy is implemented through central and local government units. In connection with such happenings, as case study of a dairy cattle project in which a policy goal was to increase farm incomes, and policy results came out with 1) a large number of farms terminating their participation soon after they joined the project, and 2) poor farm management results among farms remaining in the project. |

| Ten species are represented by the 40 wood specimens collected in 1969 from the Angmagssalik District of S.E. Greenland. Information concerning collection localities, diameter of wood specimens, number and breadth of growth rings and eccentricity is given. A comparison of growth ring observations is made with those made by Kruuse (1912), in three species from the same area, in relation to their growth form and environment. An anatomical description of the wood of the 10 species has been made together with an evaluation of some of the anatomical characteristics. | o método analítico é estudado, em seus aspectos teóricos, visando a sua aplicação em minerais uniaxials. a marcha de cálculo reduz-se a uma equação de segundo grau, em que ambas as raízes representam posições possíveis do eixo ótico. São fornecidas três maneiras diferentes para se fazer a opção entre as duas raízes. Estuda-se também a determinação da birrefringência máxima, cuja expressão, para os uniaxials, assume formas muito simples. Conclui-se, finalmente, que o sinal ótico do mineral é o mesmo sinal da birrefringência da secção tomada na posição inicial de extinção (φ =θ = ψ = 0). |

| O método analítico de Chomard é aplicado a 13 plagioclásios, pertencentes a 7 grupamentos. Para cada indivíduo, efetuaram-se, em cada uma das 4 posições de extinção, 12 operações (φ, θ, ψ) resultantes da combinação de 3θ (θ = 15º, θ = 30º e θ = 45º), com 4φ (φ = 45º, φ = 135º, φ = 225º e φ = 315º). Cada ângulo de extinção (ψ) foi determinado como média de 8 medições de maneira que realizaram-se cerca de 5000 medições individuais de ângulos ψ. Um resumo operacional do método é apresentado. | The spectral energy distribution of sea waves is supplied four times a day by the French Meteorological Office's DsAs model using the pressure distribution over the atlantic as input. The surface-motion spectrum furnished by the model may then be used to estimate the local current spectrum near the sea bed. The present study is based on four years (1970-1974) of DSAs data for the so-called Brittany point (47"30 N. 5"W). The data correlates reasonably well with observations made from ships in the region lying between 40 - 50 N and O - 10 W (Figure 1) . . .
