Burkina Faso is a landlocked country of the Sahel, bordered on the south by the Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo and Benin, on the east by Niger, and on the northwest by Mali. The climate of Burkina is primarily sudanian. The country lacks mineral resources that can be exploited profitably with present technology. Burkina economic progress depends primarily on the performance of its agricultural sector, which employs 80-90 percent of the population. Crop cultivation is still the dominant activity in agriculture. Cotton is the main export crop and a growing source of farmer income. In Burkina Faso, cotton represented some 40 percent of the total recorded exports in recent years. In view of the prominent position of cotton in the Burkina economy, the... |

Microscopical investigations of the gut contents of six individuals of Dermochelys coriacea from southern England and the North Sea revealed the presence in all of these of numerous nematocysts, mainly scyphozoan. Only six species of Scyphozoa occur in British shallow waters and in the North Sea, viz., Pelagia noctiluca (Forskål), Chrysaora hysoscella (L.), Aurelia aurita (L.), Cyanea capillata (L.), C. lamarckii (L.) and Rhizostoma octopus (L.). For the purpose of comparison and identification an inventory was made of the cnidom of these six species (based on preserved material). Nematocysts of one or more of these species appeared to be present in each of the turtles, all six species being represented. One of the turtles in addition appeared to have... |

Periomphale Baill. (incl. Pachydiscus Gilg & Schltr. and Memecylanthus Gilg & Schltr.) from New Caledonia is reduced to Wittsteinia F.v.M. from New South Wales. This genus occurs also in New Guinea. Three transfers are made. A new monotypic genus of the group Crispiloba is described from Queensland, based on Randia disperma S. Moore. A general discussion is held on the features of the group and the affinities within it. It has become clear that it has no alliance to the Caprifoliaceae but must be regarded as allied to Saxifragaceae sensu lato, either as a distinct family or as a subfamily. A key is given to the three genera: Alseuosmia from “New Zealand, Wittsteinia from New South Wales, New Caledonia and New Guinea, and Crispiloba from Queensland. |

The generic differences between Antirhea Comm. ex A.L. de Juss. and Guettardella Benth. in Champ. (Rubiaceae: Guettardeae) are discussed. Antirhea borbonica J.F. Gmel. and A. bifurcata (Desr.) Hook, f., the only Old World species of Antirhea and until now inadequately known are fully described. In Guettardella, 10 new species are proposed and 8 new combinations are made. |

The theory of the competitive firm under price uncertainty is used to develop a money metric of a producer's willingness to pay for additional information. This concept is extended to the market by formulating ex-ante and ex-post measures of the value of a rational expectations forecast. The empirical feasibility of these measures are demonstrated by application to a simple two equation model of an agricultural market. |

As raízes absorveram NaH2P(32)04 a 10-4M, durante 24 horas. |
