| Three plant-inhabiting fungi with tetraradiate conidia, Tricornispora bambusae Bonar, Fumagopsis triglifioides Speg., and Eriosporella calami (Niessl) Höhn., the type species of monotypic genera, are redescribed and illustrated from type specimens. These genera are regarded as distinct. Fumagopsis is possibly closely related to Kazulia Nag Raj. Since the type specimen of Tridentaria Preuss did not bear a fungus which agreed with the very brief original description, the genus Tridentaria Preuss is regarded as doubtful. The nematode-trapping Hyphomycetes formerly placed in Tridentaria should be reclassified. |

| 33 species of Chrisopini are described and illustrated, of wich 30 are recorded from the Amazon Basin. Ten new species are described in Chrisopodes(duckei, spínella, nebulosa, lineafrons, polygonica, indetata, conisetosa, breviata, mediocris, and tetifera(, and nine in Ceraesochrysa(squalidens, acutipuppis, rafaeli, reddyi, nigripes, teneuícornis, ariasi, falceifera, and michaelmuris). | Kees Sipkes: florist in hart en nieren met een omvangrijke kennis van het plantenleven en met een heel eigen visie hierop. Het zijn vooral de vragen naar herkomst en verspreiding van soorten en naar de aard van het milieu, die hem steeds weer bezighouden, vooral bij het verschijnen of verdwijnen van soorten. Talrijk zijn zijn mededelingen op de ‘Floristenvergaderingen’ van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Botanische Vereniging, talrijk ook zijn tijdschriftartikelen en andere publikaties. Met vreugde begroette hij de vestiging van het Biologisch Station ‘Weevers’ Duin’ in Oostvoorne; hij speelde een belangrijke rol bij de voorbereiding van de vestigingsplaats hiervan. |

| A jojoba e uma xerofila lenhosa arbustiva pertencente a familia Buxaceae, cuja altura varia de 0,60 a 4,0m apresentando folhas sempre verdes e consistentes cariacea, com o inicio de producao de frutos a partir do terceiro ano e duracao natural de vida de mais de 100 anos. Planta dioica, muito ramificada e com sistema radicular extensivo e profundo, pode chegar ate dez metros. Trata-se de uma planta selvagem, em fase de domesticacao, e que apresenta uma grande variabilidade genetica, principalmente no que se refere a altura da planta, inflorescencia, tipo de copa, tamanho, forma e cor de frutos e folhas, teor de cera, resistencia a fatores do meio. |

| Bioassay tests were conducted with wastewater effluents from a textile mili and a detergent packing plant using the hermit crab. Clibinarius africanus. (Aurivillus) as experimental animal. LC50 values were evaluated using static testing procedures for 24, 48 and 96 hour. For the textile effluent, means of 79.0, 50.24 and 51.81 percentage effluent by volume were obtained in respect of crabs in the “medium” weight range (0.3 – 0.7grams) for the test periods. For the “detergent wash”, 95.16, 85.00 and 82.33 percentage effluent by volume represented means of values obtained for “small” size crabs (weight range 0.08–0.24 grams) and 96.0, and 81.50 percentage effluent by volume for ‘medium’ size crabs for 24, 48 and 96 hour respectively. | A small stratified sample was drawn from irrigated dairy farms judged to exhibit two degrees (high and low) of salting in the soil. Cobb-Douglas production functions were fitted to time series and cross sectional data for each stratum. The results support the conclusion that the data from the two strata can be pooled and that the quality of the soil in this area can be modelled using an analysis of covariance approach. A preliminary confidence interval for the geometric mean of the ratio of the shadow price of water to the price of butterfat for farms in the sample was also calculated. This interval supports the hypothesis that rationed irrigation water is worth more to these farms than the price paid. |

| O comportamento silvicultural de doze especies/procedencias de Eucalyptus foi estudado em tres regioes bioclimaticas do Estado de Minas Gerais: Uberaba, Paraopeba e Vicosa. As avaliacoes periodicas mostraram maiores incrementos em altura e diametro nas fases iniciais de crescimento, ate os 4,5 anos de idade, quando entao os incrementos foram menores, possivelmente por causa da competicao entre plantas e disponibilidade de nutrientes em funcao da idade. No periodo compreendido entre 6,5 e 7,5 anos verificou-se uma maior velocidade no crescimento em altura e diametro nos tres locais, relacionada com o regime de precipitacao.
