Agronomic and P recovery efficiency of organomineral phosphate fertilizer from poultry litter in sandy and clayey soils PAB
Sá,Jerusa Maia e; Jantalia,Cláudia Pozzi; Teixeira,Paulo César; Polidoro,José Carlos; Benites,Vinícius de Melo; Araújo,Adelson Paulo.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate agronomic and P recovery efficiencies of a granulated organomineral phosphate fertilizer (OMF) produced from poultry litter, compared with those of monoammonium phosphate (MAP), in soils with different textures. The experiment followed a 2x2x4+2 factorial arrangement, with two Oxisols (sandy loam and clay loam textures), two sources of P (OMF and MAP), four levels of P (50, 100, 200, and 400 mg kg-1), besides two control treatments without P application. The treatments were evaluated in 10-kg pots filled with soil, during four successive cultivations of corn without replacing the P absorbed by the plants, in order to evaluate the actual and residual effects of the fertilizers. Available P contents in the...

Carbon and Nitrogen Stocks and Humic Fractions in Brazilian Organosols Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Valladares,Gustavo Souza; Pereira,Marcos Gervasio; Benites,Vinícius de Melo; Anjos,Lúcia Helena Cunha dos; Ebeling,Adierson Gilvani; Guareschi,Roni Fernandes.
ABSTRACT Despite limited geographic expression of Organosols in Brazil, their high carbon storage capacity and natural environmental vulnerability justifies further studies on C and N stocks in these soils and their relationship to the nature of organic matter. Evaluation of physical and chemical properties of organic soils and their ability to store C is important so as to develop sustainable management practices for their preservation. The objectives of the study were to measure the total organic carbon stock (OCst), total nitrogen stock (Nst), and humic fractions in Organosols from different environments and regions of Brazil, and to correlate the data with soil chemical (pH, P, K, Ca2+, Mg2+, Al3+, H+Al, CEC, V) and physical properties (soil bulk...

Silva,José Fausto Guimarães; Severiano,Eduardo da Costa; Costa,Kátia Aparecida de Pinho; Benites,Vinícius de Melo; Guimarães Júnnyor,Wellingthon da Silva; Bento,José Carlos.
Agricultural production systems that include the production of mulch for no-tillage farming and structural improvement of the soil can be considered key measures for agricultural activity in the Cerrado region without causing environmental degradation. In this respect, our work aimed to evaluate the chemical and physical-hydric properties of a dystrophic Red Latosol (Oxisol) in the municipality of Rio Verde, Goias, Brazil, under different soil management systems in the between-crop season of soybean cultivation five years after first planting. The following conditions were evaluated: Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu as a cover crop during the between-crop season; Second crop of maize intercropped with Brachiaria ruziziensis; Second crop of grain alone in a...

Organic carbon determination in histosols and soil horizons with high organic matter content from Brazil Scientia Agricola
Pereira,Marcos Gervasio; Valladares,Gustavo Souza; Anjos,Lúcia Helena Cunha dos; Benites,Vinícius de Melo; Espíndula Jr.,Ademar; Ebeling,Adierson Gilvani.
Soil taxonomy systems distinguish mineral soils from organic soils based on the amount of soil organic carbon. Procedures adopted in soil surveys for organic carbon measurement are therefore of major importance to classify the soils, and to correlate their properties with data from other studies. To evaluate different methods for measuring organic carbon and organic matter content in Histosols and soils with histic horizons, from different regions of Brazil, 53 soil samples were comparatively analyzed by the methods of Walkley & Black (modified), Embrapa, Yeomans & Bremner, modified Yeomans & Bremner, muffle furnace, and CHN. The modified Walkley & Black (C-W & B md) and the combustion of organic matter in the muffle...

Structural changes in latosols of the cerrado region: II - soil compressive behavior and modeling of additional compaction Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Severiano,Eduardo da Costa; Oliveira,Geraldo César de; Dias Júnior,Moacir de Souza; Costa,Katia Aparecida de Pinho; Benites,Vinícius de Melo; Ferreira Filho,Silvio Marcos.
Currently in Brazil, as in other parts of the world, the concern is great with the increase of degraded agricultural soil, which is mostly related to the occurrence of soil compaction. Although soil texture is recognized as a very important component in the soil compressive behaviors, there are few studies that quantify its influence on the structural changes of Latosols in the Brazilian Cerrado region. This study aimed to evaluate structural changes and the compressive behavior of Latosols in Rio Verde, Goiás, through the modeling of additional soil compaction. The study was carried out using five Latosols with very different textures, under different soil compaction levels. Water retention and soil compression curves, and bearing capacity models were...

Nunes,Walder Antonio Gomes de Albuquerque; Menezes,June Faria Scherrer; Benites,Vinícius de Melo; Lima Junior,Sérgio Araújo de; Oliveira,Anderson dos Santos.
Slaughterhouses generate large amounts of rumen content and its use as a fertilizer may offer an environmentally friendly strategy for its management. The effect of an organic fertilizer produced from slaughterhouse waste on the fertility of sandy and clayey soils as well as soybean yield (Glycine max L.) and corn (Zea mays L.) crops was evaluated. Field experiments were set up and five rates up to 16 t ha−1 of organic fertilizer (293 kg ha−1 N, 334 kg ha−1 P and 27 kg ha−1 K) were applied annually, before sowing in spring/summer, as well as a mineral fertilization of 300 kg ha−1 in the formulation 2-20-20 for soybean and 300 kg ha−1 of 12-15-15 for corn. The organic fertilizer changed soil fertility in the field experiments by increasing pH, Ca, Mg, K,...
