| In the framework of the PIRATA program, several types of observations are carried out in the Tropical Atlantic during yearly cruises, including Shipboard Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (SADCP) data. The present note is a brief review of the SADCP data processing methodology applied for 8 PIRATA cruises by using CASCADE software. To illustrate the processing steps and demonstrate the CASCADE software capabilities, an example of SADCP data processing obtained from PIRATA-FR24 cruise has been shown. This data set is made available on the PIRATA website and will also be used in the framework of the EU PREFACE program (see http://preface.b.uib.no/). |

| The GEOVIDE cruise, a collaborative project within the framework of the international GEOTRACES programme, was conducted along the French-led section in the North Atlantic Ocean (Section GA01), between 15 May and 30 June 2014. In this special issue (https://www.biogeosciences.net/special_ issue900.html), results from GEOVIDE, including physical oceanography and trace element and isotope cyclings, are presented among 18 articles. Here, the scientific context, project objectives, and scientific strategy of GEOVIDE are provided, along with an overview of the main results from the articles published in the special issue. |

| The Programme Ocean Multidisciplinaire Meso Echelle (POMME) was designed to describe and quantify the role of mesoscale processes in the subduction of mode waters in the Northeast Atlantic. Intensive situ measurements were maintained during 1 year (September 2000 - October 2001), over a 8 degrees square area centered on 18 degrees W, 42 degrees N. In order to synthesized the in-situ physical observations, and merge them with satellite altimetry and surface fluxes datasets, a simplified Kalman filter has been designed. Daily fields of temperature, salinity, and stream function were produced on a regular grid over a full seasonal cycle. We propose here the gridded fields (KA_ files) and the in-situ datasets used by the analysis (Data_ files). |

| Coriolis has started to collect underway data from the fleet of scientific vessels. The Vessel mounted ADCPs are now operating continuously. The present works is an effort to validate the dataset collected during the Beautemps-Beaupré ET0-2003 cruise. A first section is dedicated to the validation of the processing operated with VMDAS. A second section examines all dataset in detail. The third section compares the ADCP data to the currents deduced from the altimetry measurements (AVISO products). |

| Ce document présente la chaîne de traitement des données acquises par un courantomètre à effet DOPPLER (ADCP : Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) BB-150 KHz de marque RDI, fixé à une bathysonde afin d'obtenir des profils de courant absolu de la surface au fond de l'océan. La conception de ce logiciel a été initiée par I.Ogier3, élève à l'ISITV4, au cours d'un stage de fin d'année, au printemps 1995, au centre ORSTOM de Cayenne.
