Este estudo teve como objetivo verificar a eficiência do uso de imunoestimulante associado a anti-helmíntico no tratamento das helmintoses de ovinos. Os animais do grupo I (n=29) receberam o anti-helmíntico albendazole (11mg kg-1) em administração única e o imunoestimulante composto de Propionibacterium granulosum (16ug kg-1) e lipopolissacarídeo (LPS) de Escherichia coli (1,2ug kg-1) em duas doses com intervalo de 48 horas e os animais do grupo II (n=29) receberam o anti-helmíntico albendazole (11mg kg-1). Sensory analysis was used in the albendazole suspension stability study. Three formulations were prepared and stored for 1, 3, and 6 months at 4 ±1, 26 ±1, 37, 50 and 65 ºC. Samples were evaluated through the difference from control sensory test using 24 trained judges in individual cabins. Although albendazole content was not altered in the conditions studied, sensory test showed differences between control and stored samples, except for one of the formulations stored under refrigeration for one month. These results have shown that the sensory evaluation is an important tool for quality control of pharmaceutical preparations, in association with chemical, physicochemical and microbiological tests. |

The anthelmintic resistance in small ruminants is a common problem and concern worldwide. The aim of this study was to verify anthelmintic treatment efficacy in naturally infected sheep. This study was conducted on nine herds that used the same anthelmintic management for over a year. In each farm, the animals were divided into two groups: untreated control group (n = 5) and treated (n = 10) according to the number of eggs per gram of feces (EPG). The treatment effect was checked based on EPG results and larval culture performed before treatment and 10 days after treatment.
