| Avaliou-se, por meio de exames radiográficos e densitométricos, a influência de um biomaterial desenvolvido pela indústria brasileira, no processo de reparação de fraturas diafisárias instáveis do rádio. Foram utilizados 15 coelhos Norfolk, machos, idade entre cinco e seis meses e peso corpóreo médio de 3,5kg. Induziu-se fratura transversa na porção média da diáfise de ambos os rádios direito, por meio de serra giratória. Ao redor das extremidades fraturadas do rádio direito (tratado) aplicou-se BMPs adsorvidas à hidroxiapatita e aglutinante de colágeno em grânulos, ambos de origem bovina. | The non-bilaterian animals comprise organisms in the phyla Porifera, Cnidaria, Ctenophora and Placozoa. These early-diverging phyla are pivotal to understanding the evolution of bilaterian animals. After the exponential increase in research in evolutionary development (evo-devo) in the last two decades, these organisms are again in the spotlight of evolutionary biology. In this work, I briefly review some aspects of the developmental biology of nonbilaterians that contribute to understanding the evolution of development and of the metazoans. | Foi avaliada a reparação óssea após implantação de proteínas morfogenéticas ósseas (BMP) em diferentes concentrações e períodos de observação, carreadas por auto-enxerto ósseo esponjoso (EOE), em falhas ósseas, produzidas na região fronto-parietal do crânio de 20 coelhas. A falha I não foi preenchida, a II foi completamente preenchida com 3mg de EOE e as falhas III, IV, V e VI foram preenchidas com EOE associado a 0,5; 1; 2 e 5mg de BMP, respectivamente. | The beef industry in the United States consists of several distinct production levels ranging from the cow-calf producer at the lowest level to the final consumer. These sectors face varying levels of profitability, degrees of market power, conflicting goals, and price signals. Environmental regulations involve questions of what costs are involved, who is in a position to pay these costs, and whether market prices are capable of signaling different environmental practices. Understanding the relationships within the beef industry may allow researchers to fine-tune analyses of environmental issues in the beef industry. |
