Agrochemicals and storage times on soybean seed vigor PAB

Abstract: The objective of this work was to investigate the potential physiological damage of the treatment of '97Y07RR' soybean seeds with different pesticides at different storage times, in order to define the optimal period of sowing. The germination rate, the germination speed index, and shoot fresh matter were evaluated. Thiamethoxam did not cause losses in seed vigor with increasing storage time; however, the other agrochemicals caused significant losses. Seed treatment should be performed up to 90 days before sowing.

Germinação in vitro de sementes e multiplicação de Calophyllum brasiliense PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira

Calophyllum brasiliense é uma espécie arbórea com sistema de propagação natural limitada. A germinação in vitro pode ser uma alternativa para obtenção de plântulas de qualidade. Sementes foram mantidas em água antes da desinfestação e comparadas com sementes controle (não imersas), sem diferença entre os tratamentos. HgCl2 usado durante a desinfestação reduziu a contaminação das culturas. A contaminação fúngica foi reduzida com fungicida adicionado ao meio (23 para 6,4%), mas a porcentagem de bactérias foi aumentada (24 para 36%). Em outro experimento, as sementes foram imersas em plant preservative mixture (PPM™) antes da desinfestação. Combinando a imersão por 48 h e 2 mL L-1 no meio de cultura, a contaminação foi de 6%. Germination and seedling structure of Ruprechtia laxiflora Meissn. (Polygonaceae) Biological Sciences

Germination of diaspores and the seedling structure of Ruprechtia laxiflora Meissn. (Polygonaceae) which is a secondary species frequent in forest remnants are described. Seedlings were embedded in hydroxymethacrylate and sectioned in a rotary microtome according to usual techniques in plant anatomy. For bioassays of germination, the experimental design was completely randomized in a 3x2 bifactorial arrangement, corresponding to three temperatures (20, 25 and 30°C) and two light conditions (photoperiod and continuous darkness) for the diaspores newly harvested and in a 4x2 bifactorial arrangement, corresponding to four temperatures (15, 20, 25 and 30°C) and two light conditions (photoperiod and continuous darkness) for diaspores analyzed after storage....

However, research has yet to advance on its breeding and seed technology, an essential factor for the development of productive genotypes with germination potential which would support the continuity of breeding programs. In search of a methodology for routine analysis testing of guava seeds under genetic control, this study examined the effect of temperature and substrate on the germination of guava seeds from full-sib families. Plant growth analysis and seed vigor expression: effects of soil waterlogging during rye plant development Acta Botanica

This study aimed to evaluate the growth, assimilate partitioning and seed vigor expression of rye seeds subjected to waterlogging during development. The experimental design was completely randomized with six replications and three treatments. The treatments involved different waterlogging periods: a) no waterlogging; b) single waterlogging of three days; and c) two soil waterlogging periods of three days. The plants were collected at regular intervals of 14 days after emergence until the end of the growth cycle, measuring the dry matter accumulation and the leaf area for growth analysis and dry matter partition between the organs and number of flowers.
