Distribución de los foraminíferos bentónicos del Golfo de Guayaquil interior y su relación con algunos factores ambientales OceanDocs

En la presente investigación se realiza el estudio de algunos factores ambientales: salinidad del agua superficial, turbidez, sedimentos y pH del sedimento, relacionados con las especies de foraminíferos bentónicos identificadas en el Golfo de Guayaquil, durante marzo y septiembre de 1988. Igualmente se realiza la distribución relativa de cada una de las especies halladas en el área.

Estimación del oxígeno disuelto en el Golfo de Batabano OceanDocs

This work, it is applied a unidirectional and stationary model for estimating the dissolved oxygen distribution in the area of the Gulf of Batabanó, starting from the influence of physical-biological parameters (marine currents, temperature, salinity, photosynthesis and respiration). In this first approach, estimates of the dissolved oxygen concentration are obtained for Ensenada de la Broa, with an error of 0.2693 mg/L, while for the rest of the Gulf the estimate error oscillated between -4.13 y -4.69 mg/L. La distribución espacial de los pastos marinos depende de las condiciones ambientales presentes, destacándose la profundidad, temperatura, salinidad, sustrato y nutrientes. La plataforma continental de La Guajira presenta extensas praderas de pastos marinos dominadas por Thalassia testudinum, las cuales representan más del 80 % del total nacional. Salinas por su posición en la península de Santa Elena está situada en el límite noroeste del Golfo de Guayaquil y, debido a que la línea costanera se curva hacia el noroeste y se coloca por ello fuera de la acción de la corriente de Humboldt, aumenta progresivamente la precipitación hacia el norte (PMRC, 1995). Se realiza el estudio de las especies de foraminíferos bentónicos del área de Salinas y se hace la relación de las especies más frecuentes: Elphidium articulatum, f, typica; reophax cf. guttiferus; Rotalia cubensis y Textularia secasensis con los factores ambientales: salinidad, temperatura, pH, oxígeno, profundidad, turbidez, alimentación y sustrato.

Identificación y evaluación de los impactos ambientales en las zonas de plataforma marino costera I, II y III. Zonas de Gestión I y II. OceanDocs

Conocer como el hombre ha impactado las zonas de plataforma marino costera I, II y III, es el principal objetivo del presente trabajo. Se inventariaron y evaluaron un total de 382 impactos, de ellos 302 eran negativos, 74 positivos y 6 neutros. Dichos impactos estaban recogidos en 11 Estudios de Evaluación de Impacto Ambiental. Es importante aclarar que los resultados obtenidos se restringen solo a la información contenida en estos estudios. Para la evaluación se empleó la Matriz de Evaluación Rápida de Impactos Ambientales (RIAM). Los resultados permitieron establecer que los impactos ambientales negativos residuales más importantes fueron: afectación a la fauna, a los ecosistemas marino – costeros, al suelo, al hábitat natural, a las aguas...

The age-class distribution of the Brazilian flathead Percophis brasiliensis in relation to environmental variables in spring and winter, and the growth of both sexes, were studied in the SW Atlantic Coastal System (SACS)(34°S-31° S). Growth was studied from 1449 individuals (n=853, spring (1998 + 2000), n=596, winter (2004)) to which size (TL), sex, and age were determined. Age was determined considering that an opaque plus a hyaline band (present in the transverse section of the sagitta otolith) represented 1 year of life. The age-class distribution in spring and winter was established through hierarchical clustering and non-metric multi-dimensional scaling (nMDS analysis). This second volume of a guide to integrated coastal zone management opens a new dimension by discussing the processes involved in a more complete and dynamic way than the first, To fulfil1 this requirement, an expanded work group, drawing upon the knowledge of experts in political science, economics, and sociology, devoted over two years of effort (1999 - 2001) to its completion, following a disciplined working method. A dual principle prevailed in the application of this method. On one hand, it prescribed an approach structured as a series of steps, and on the other, it demanded that real situations be brought to light, emphasizing case studies of experience with or analysis of coastal management.

The spatial and temporal changes of the fish assemblage areas composition at the coastal ecosystem of the western South Atlantic (34 degree -41 degree S) during six springs (1981, 1983, 1994, 1995, 1998 and 1999), were examined. For each assemblage area the most common species and those species that discriminate it from adjacent assemblages areas within years, were identified. A summary of the status of control and strategies for the future is given. Temperature and salinity interannual variations are analyzed south ofthe hake (Merluccius hubbsi)spawning grounds area, in the San Jorge Gulf and adjacent waters Argentine Sea, SW Atlantic. The study period comprises the months of January 1995-2000. Results of cruises carried out on board of INIDEP research vessels to assess hake juveniles were studied. Statistically significant increase of temperature from 1997 was observed. Change trends over a period of 20 years at a global climate scale are discussed.
