Bilan azoté des flux tidaux d'un marais salé à végétation halophyte ArchiMer

In spring 2001, during a complete tidal cycle, nitrogen fluxes between the sea and the salt marsh were calculated. The marsh (1198 m2) covered in 75 % by halophytes, with 46 % by the sea purslane, Halimione portulacoides. The nitrogen balance shows that the salt marsh imports nitrogen micro-particules (2,09 g) by sedimentation, exports dissolved nitrogen (4,13 g), and that the macro-element part (-1,02 g in fauna and vegetable refuse) in the global mass balance (3,06 g) is not unimportant. Nitrogen fluxes are mainly under inorganic form for the incoming flux (mainly NO3), and under organic form for the outgoing flux. Contribution à l'étude d'impact des eaux de rejet agricoles vers le milieu marin conchylicole en Charente Maritime ArchiMer

Les marais agricoles de Charente-Maritime sont le siège de culture intensives sur drainage depuis les années 1980. Les eaux de drainage aboutissent souvent dans les marais salés contigus, notamment utilisés pour l'affinage de huîtres. Une évaluation de l'impact de cette activité a été menée sur trois ans en utilisant trois types de tests écotoxicologiques en support à un suivi analytique des eaux de rejet : tests acétylcholinestérase (effet des insecticides), test larves d'huîtres (impact sur l'écosystème), test d'inhibition phytoplanctonique (effet des herbicides).

Le marais salé des pertuis charentais : à la recherche d'un développement durable ArchiMer

Sustainable development of the marine part of the wetlands located on the Atlantic coast of France (Pertuis Charentais) implies the difficult integration of European and national regulations in the regional frame. Spatial and temporal patterns of this area show the strong relationship between human activities (salt, sheIlfish farming, agriculture, fisheries...) and physical evolution of this area. Regulations based on zoning have to be completed by more precise studies including the major role of water uses regulated by human practices.
