Sublethal adverse effects may result from exposure of aquatic organisms to insecticides at environmentally relevant concentrations. Fingerlings of the common carp (Cyprinus carpio, Linnaeus, 1758), grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella, Valenciennes, 1844), and bighead carp (Aristichthys nobilis, Richardson, 1845) were exposed to diafuran, an insecticide widely used during rice cultivation in Southern Brazil. This study evaluates the economic impact of a ban on methyl bromide on the U.S. winter fresh vegetable market for six major crops: tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, and watermelons. Florida is the primary domestic supplier of these products. Mexico and Texas are the competing suppliers of the five vegetable crops and peppers, respectively. Leontief technologies represent both monocrop and double-crop production systems; linear inverse demand functions represent four demand regions in the U.S. and Canada. By increasing production costs and reducing yields, a ban on methyl bromide decreases Florida's FOB revenues by 54% and increases those of Mexico by 65%. ABSTRACT The present study attempted to identify climate conditions that are associated with the occurrence of pyrethroid residues using a multivariate principal component analysis (PCA). A total of 132 raw milk samples were collected from dairy farms in Minas Gerais State - Brazil and analyzed for seven analytes using gas chromatography with electron capture detection. To investigate 491 farmers in Sichuan Province, the paper analyzes comparatively training content, fixed-point samples, different areas and training influence. O Plano Nacional de Controle de Resíduos e Contaminantes (PNCRC) do Ministério da Agricultura Pecuária e Abastecimento (MAPA) é um programa federal de fiscalização de alimentos que visa quantificar resíduos químicos potencialmente nocivos à saúde do consumidor. Os dados coletados pelo PNCRC provêm de uma amostragem homogênea e aleatória, em âmbito nacional, de diversos produtos de origem vegetal e animal, seguida de análises em laboratórios oficiais e credenciados pelo MAPA. Este trabalho objetiva o tratamento dos dados gerados pelo PNCRC, coletados no período de 2008 a 2011, relativos à análise de risco de resíduos de pesticidas em maçã, visando evidenciar correlações espaço-temporais relevantes quanto à concentração de diferentes resíduos químicos. |

Standard scenarios increase the consistency of the regulatory evaluation process by minimizing the subjective influence when performing the pesticide environmental concentration - PEC calculation, also make interpretation much easier, and enable the adoption of a consistent scientific process for a Tier 1 evaluation (FOCUS, 2000). The Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) adopts the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) methodology (IBAMA, 2016), using the ?standard farm pond? scenario (Parker et al., 1995) for surface water in the Tier 1 evaluation, and, therefore, it may lead to the registration of pesticides without considering Brazilian agricultural scenarios in environmental risk assessment - ERA. |

Abstract Dichlorvos (DDVP) is one of the most consumption chlorinated organophosphate insecticide used on tomato. The knowledge about the influence of postharvest household processes on the levels of DDVP residues in vegetables is required to estimate dietary exposure. In this study, the removal of sprayed dichlorvos (DDVP) on tomato by washing with tap, ozonated water (in dosages of 2, 4 and 6 mg ozone/L), a commercial detergent solution (in concentration of 1, 2 and 3%) and ultrasonic cleaner (with power of 100, 200 and 300 W) was investigated. Genitors of the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas were submitted during gametogenesis to a short pulse exposure to the herbicide diuron at a realistic environmental concentration. Histological analysis showed no effect of diuron on gametogenesis course, sex ratio and reproductive effort. A non-significant increase in testosterone and progesterone levels was observed in genitors exposed to the herbicide. At cell level, diuron exposure was shown to modulate the phagocytic activity of circulating hemocytes.
