| Environmental policies that aim to enhance nature conservation, biodiversity, and well-being of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLC) rely on knowledge integration and co-production processes that include both science and Indigenous and local knowledge (ILK) systems. While these processes are expected to safeguard the diversity of knowledge systems, uneven power relations among participants often prevent them from achieving this which can affect the legitimacy and usability of the outcomes of these processes. | ABSTRACT: Since 1997 Embrapa Cerrados has coordinated a Technical Cooperation Project with be Botany and Forest Engineering Departments of the University of Brasília nad the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), entitled "Conservation and Management of the Biodiversity of the Cerrado Biome - CMBBC". | Uma entrevista estruturada e um instrumento de auto-avaliacao denominado Guia de Avaliacao Simplificada da Gestao de Associacoes (GAS) foram utilizados para avaliar quatorze organizacoes rurais de base familiar. Esse grupo de organizacoes foi formado por dez associacoes de agricultores tradicionais, tres associacoes de assentamento de reforma agraria e uma central de associacoes, sendo todas situadas em quatro municipios do Estado de Goias.
