The standardization of requeijão cheese quality characteristics is a processing stage which is directly influenced by the chemical composition of the raw material. Fat and water concentrations are the main factors that cause variation in quality properties of the requeijão and, when not thoroughly controlled, may cause a lack in standardization of the food. Calculations of ingredients for effective standardization must be made in relation to the final product through of iterative calculations, which makes the manual process unfeasible. Knowledge of the radiochemical purity of radiopharmaceuticals is mandatory and can be evaluated by several methods and techniques. Planar chromatography is the technique normally employed in nuclear medicine since it is simple, rapid and usually of low cost. There is no standard system for the chromatographic technique, but price, separation efficiency and short time for execution must be considered. A short online survey or quality control/quality assurance procedures was carried out requesting information about procedures and details of the manuals, guidelines and special software that are used by respondents for ocean profile data. This was to assist the intersessional working group established through Resolution IODE-XVIII. 4 to carry out its work that including: (i) review existing quality control procedures and software; (ii) discuss quality control issues of historical, real-time, delayed-mode and modern ocean profile data; (iii) prepare a report on (i) and (ii) above.

The genus Calea belongs to the tribe Heliantheae and presents about 125 species. Calea serrata, popularly known as erva-de-cobra, chá-amargo and quebra-tudo, is an endemic species found in southern Brazil and is used in traditional medicine to treat ulcers and livers problems. The present work aimed to study the pharmacobotanical characters of leaves and stems of C. serrata for quality control purposes. Individual fish age data are crucial to fish stock assessment, so their accuracy and precision are vital. The acquisition of age data most often relies on interpreting fish otoliths, a complex task in which expert subjectivity increases with the complexity of the structural patterns of the otoliths. The question arises for certain fish species (e.g. hake, Merluccius merluccius) whether the deposition of otolith macrostructures is meaningful for age estimation. A quantitative method based on the evaluation of otolith similarity in terms of structural patterns is presented to investigate this issue. The software Seed Vigor Imaging System (SVIS®), has been successfully used to evaluate seed physiological potential by automated analyses of scanned seedlings. In this research, the efficiency of this system was compared to other tests accepted for assessing cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seed vigor of distinct seed lots of Supremo and Safira cultivars. لدراسة تأثير عملية تحويل سمك السردين واللاطشة إلى المعلبات على الجودة الغذائية، قمنا بمتابعة موشرات جودة الدهنيات و تركيبتها من الأحماض الدهنية و أثبتت النتائج أن تغيرات كمية و جودة الدهنيات متعلقة أساسا بتركيبة سمك السردين أو اللاطشة الطازج بالدهنيات و بتركيبة المادة الحافظة (زيت الزيتون أو الطماطم). كما أثبتت التحاليل بواسطة الكروماتوغرافيا ذات الطور الغازي ثراء المعلبات بالأحماض الدهنية التالية C18 :1 ω9 وC18 :2 ω6 . وأخيرا، يمكننا التأكيد أن سمك السردين واللاطشة المعلب بزيت الزيتون و الطماطم غني بالأحماض الدهنية من عائلتيωω3 وω6 .

ABSTRACT Lavandula dentata, popularly known as lavender, is commonly used in traditional medicine for the treatment of digestive and inflammatory disorders. The objective of this study was to analyzed the chemical oil composition, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of the essential oil and anatomical markers of the leaf and stem of L. dentata cultivated in South Brazil. Essential oil showed an antioxidant activity similar to rutin and gallic acid when analyzed by phosphomolybdenum method. However, by the free radical DPPH and ABTS methods, it showed a slight potential antioxidant.
