Coffee seedlings in different substrates and protected environments REA

The production of high-quality seedlings is a critical factor for successful implementation of a determined crop in the field. In order to evaluate the production of coffee seedlings, experiments were conducted with different substrates and in different protected environments. Treatments consisted of evaluation of the following substrates: 50% cattle manure + 50% commercial substrate, 50% cattle manure + 50% vermiculite, 50% commercial substrate + 50% vermiculite, 1/3 cattle manure + 1/3 commercial substrate + 1/3 vermiculite, 50% cattle manure + 50% sand, 1/3 sand + 1/3 cattle manure + 1/3 commercial substrate and 50% commercial substrate + 50% sand. ABSTRACT Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) flows around obstructions by its self-weight to fill entirely and self-consolidate (without any need for vibration), without any part of disconnection and chunking. The eradication of the need for consolidation leads to better quality concrete and substantial improvement of running conditions. The fresh state of SCC mixes will usually have huge amount of fine fillers, including cement, and produce excessively high compressive strength concrete. Germination of Styrax camporum Pohl. seeds in response to substrate types, moisture contents and the seed morphology Anais da ABC (AABC)

This study evaluated the contributions of Styrax camporum seed morphology (size of seeds, presence or absence of endocarp attached to the seed), different substrates (filter paper, vermiculite, sand and the soils of cerrado s. str., cerradão and a riparian forest), different water potentials (0, -0.1, -0.2, -0.3, -0.4 and -0.5 MPa), light and temperature to seed germination. Seed size did not affect the germination percentage when seeds were sown on vermiculite. Este trabalho trata de diversos experimentos desenvolvidos procurando entender a influência do substrato para preenchimento das embalagens no desenvolvimento de mudas de erva-mate. Numa primeira etapa, instalou-se um ensaio em viveiro coberto com sombrite, onde foram testados diversos materiais (cama de aviário, esterco de suíno, esterco de bovino, vermiculita e vermicomposto) para compor substrato com terra de mata da camada superficial do solo e com terra de subsolo.
