| Women have a fundamental role in maintaining life and productive activities that promote social equality, environmental justice and sustainable development. Among the challenges faced by them are the invisibility of their work, violence and discrimination in the countryside and institutions, the restriction of access to land and credit, and the difficulty of accessing public policies. There are numerous initiatives of the Brazilian government to promote gender equality and women's autonomy, culminating in various public policies. However, the cultural and paradigm shift needed to value, recognize and empower women in the countryside, in forests and in cities, requires that these policies be transformed into state policies, so that they continue regardless... |

| As tecnologias de irrigação tem gerado o fortalecimento da fruticultura no polo Petrolina/PE e Juazeiro/BA e proporcionado melhores condições sociais e econômicas para as mulheres que laboram nessa atividade. O processo investigativo neste estudo buscou levantar a conjuntura atual do exercício das trabalhadoras rurais que labutam na fruticultura irrigada, em especial, na cidade de Petrolina. Para levantamento de dados da presente pesquisa foi aplicado um questionário com as trabalhadoras de duas empresas do ramo da fruticultura do Submédio do São Francisco, bem como, com as que trabalham, temporariamente, na fruticultura irrigada, mas que atualmente, encontram-se desempregadas, sendo possível levantar alguns dados em relação à contratação da mão de obra... |

| Reduzir as diferenças de gênero no mercado de trabalho permitiria que 204 milhões de pessoas a mais entrassem na força de trabalho global até 2025. Esse incremento poderia gerar um aumento de 3,9% no produto interno bruto (PIB) mundial. Uma grande parte dos empregos (162,4 milhões ou 62%) seria gerada em países emergentes, em virtude do seu tamanho relativo e do fato de que possuem as maiores disparidades de gênero (Mujeres..., 2017). | Reducing gender gaps in the labor market would allow an additional 204 million people to enter the global workforce by 2025.
