This study was carried out at Phitsanulok Rice Research Center during 2008-2010 aiming for minimizing rice blast severity by growing 2 rice lines differed in blast resistance to broaden rice genetics. In 2008, resistance screening was performed on 2 sets of blast resistant rice lines derived from KDML105 having different donors of resistance developed by Ubon Ratchathani Rice Research Center. Ten selected blast isolates were inoculated one at a time onto 21 day-old seedlings at 50,000 spores/ml and kept at 25 oC in the controlled room for 7 days before assessment. Rice growing areas in the Lower North of Thailand has been severely affected by extreme climate change seen as cold injury in 2007 dry season. The total affected area was 621,176 rai (99,388 ha) resulted in a drastic loss of 2,749 million Baht ($US 89 million). Since it has been reported that the most sensitive stage to cool temperature is the young microspore stage, approximately 8.5-10 days before flowering, and the critical range of temperature for cold injury resulted in panicle sterility is 15-20 oC. Luempua is a dark-purple glutinous upland rice belongs to the Mong hilltribe. The origin prior to the time of seed purification was the mountainous area 450 m above sea level. The variety is normally grown in the wet season under upland condition. To obtain the information for appropriate time of sowing and growing with water as for the lowland sowing, Luempua was sown by transplanting in the cement container every 15 days from 2010-2013 at Phitsanulok Rice Research center (PSL). Rice genetic utilization in terms of health product development that could draw up public attention is a significant scheme for rice genetic conservation particularly for traditional varieties. There are two levels of utilization; local and high-end level. Objectives of this study were to estimate genetic parameters of number of born alive (NBA) in different parities and to examine the appropriateness of the 3 models. The genetic parameters in all models were evaluated. In model I, single-trait animal model, each parity was considered as a different trait. In model II, repeatability model, each trait of different paritys was measured repeatedly. In model I, multiple-trait model, each parity was treated as a different trait. การศึกษาประสิทธิภาพเชิงเศรษฐกิจของการผลิตข้าวอินทรีย์ Thai Agricultural

Study examines the economic efficiency in organic rice production in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Yasothon, Surin and Phatthalung province. Data for the study was collected from 223 organic rice farmers in the 5 provinces. Production function analyses which incorporate the conventions test of economic and technical efficiencies were use as the analytical technique. Finding resealed that gained the economical return in term the ratio of net income over the production cost of 6.7, 4.3, 3.6, 2.3 and 1.2 in Surin, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phatthalung and Yasothon respectively. Further environmental effect was the factor is the most influencing farmer decision to change production cost rather than market price, marketing and outside supporting.

Thai sugarcane clones are continuously developed to obtain new varieties from old outstanding clones. Most of good parents still gave good progenies. However, a few varieties are widely popular. According to this reason, the features of the 95 clones from recommended varieties, elite clones and land race clones were studied to find out good guidelines to utilize them to improve yield and high sugar content of new sugarcane clones.
