Estudios Sobre Criptógamas Colombianas III. Lista comentada de los Musgos de Colombia Naturalis
Florschütz-de Waard, J.; Florschütz, P.A..
A survey of the literature in which species of Musci are reported for Colombia, amplified by unpublished identifications of recent collections, indicates a known flora of 750 species. About 600 published names are treated as synonyms. An annotated list of the collectors is also provided, as well as notes on critical localities and itineraries, especially those of Purdie, Lindig and Wallis. Moss collections of Moritz, Wagner and Osculati are not from Colombia. Two new combinations are proposed: Campylopus pittieri Williams var. congestum (Thér.) comb. nov. and C. pittieri var. latilimbatum (Thér.) comb. nov.

Studies on Colombian Cryptogams VII. Culture studies on the taxonomic relevance of costal anatomy in the Campylopus leucognodes-subconcolor complex and in Campylopus pittieri Naturalis
Florschütz-de Waard, J.; Worrell-Schets, M..
Observations on costal anatomy in Colombian material of the Campylopus leucognodessubconcolor complex revealed a correlation between habitat humidity and degree of cell wall thickness. Cultivation experiments confirmed the assumption that the presence or absence of pseudostereids in this group is environmentally controlled. The taxonomic consequence of these findings makes us consider C. leucognodes (C. Müll.) Par. and C. argyrocaulon (C. Müll.) Mitt. synonymous with C. subconcolor (Hampe) Mitt.; the latter name is correct for the species in its new circumscription. Cultivation experiments on Campylopus pittieri Williams produced no effect on the observed variation in the costal cell-pattern, but cultivation seemed to suppress the development of apical...

Studies on Colombia cryptogams. I. variation of characters in South American species of Campylopus Naturalis
Florschütz, P.A.; Florschütz-de Waard, J..
This paper is a preliminary account of investigations on species of Campylopus, mainly from the high Andes of Colombia and from adjacent regions. The studies are based on herbarium specimens, field studies and cultural experiments. The genus Campylopus was founded by Bridel (1819) on the basis of a curved seta only and included, therefore, species of Grimmia and other genera. Later he modified his earlier circumscription (Bridel 1826) so that the genus then contained (except for one uncertain species) only species of Campylopus as known today. A subdivision of the genus was made by Limpricht (1886) based on the structure of the costa as seen in cross section: Pseudocampylopus Costa without stereids, ventral layer of large cells, other cells containing...
