Drosophila suzukii: ein neuer Schädling im Weichobstanbau Organic Eprints

Die Kirschessigfliege Drosophila suzukii wurde 2008 nach Europa eingeschleppt. Im Mittelmeerraum wurden 2011 starke Schäden vermeldet. In diesem Jahr ist mit Schäden auch nördlich der Alpen zu rechnen. Die Fliegen befallen alles Weichobst (Beeren, Kirschen, Trauben), sowie viele wilde Pflanzen. In diesem Jahr sollten alle sensiblen Kulturen mit Apfelessig-Fallen überwacht werden. Zur Befallsvorbeugung werden der Einsatz von engmaschigen Netzen (0.8 mm), sowie eine frühzeitige, vollständige Ernte und das Vernichten befallener Früchte empfohlen.

Drosophila suzukii: importantes différences dans la sensibilité des cépages de vigne. Organic Eprints

Même si la présence de la drosophile du cerisier (Drosophila suzukii) dans les vignobles suisses a provoqué une grande inquiétude auprès des viticulteurs en 2014, les expériences acquises ces deux dernières années montrent que la vigne doit être considérée comme une plante hôte secondaire. Malgré cela, des oeufs peuvent être pondus dans les baies de divers cépages. Avec l’aide des services cantonaux, nous avons échantillonné plus de 90 000 baies dans 500 parcelles en 2015, ainsi que 150 000 baies dans 600 parcelles en 2016. L’analyse de ces données montre que la sensibilité du raisin augmente avec la maturation, que les cépages rouges Acolon, Cabernet Dorsa, Cornalin, Divico, Dornfelder, Dunkelfelder, Galotta, Garanoir, Humagne rouge, Mara, Regent et Syrah...

Drosophila suzukii Monitoring in verschiedenen Habitaten 2014 Organic Eprints

Die Kirschessigfliege (Drosophila suzukii) wurde 2008 aus Südostasien nach Europa eingeschleppt und verursacht seitdem z.T. massive Ertragsausfälle. Mit ihrem sägeartigen Eiablagestachel ist sie in der Lage, Eier direkt in reifende Weichobstarten, wie z.B. Beeren, Kirschen, Zwetschgen und Trauben abzulegen. Auch viele wilde Pflanzen, wie z.B. Holunder und Schneeball dienen als Wirtspflanzen. Die Larven entwickeln sich in den Früchten und ernähren sich vom Fruchtfleisch. Die befallenen Früchte fallen in sich zusammen, werden weich und unverkäuflich. Da der Generationszyklus sehr kurz ist und daher mehrere Generationen parallel auftreten, kommt es zu einem starken Befallsdruck im Spätsommer und Herbst. Drosophila suzukii – Un nouveau ravageur des fruits à chair tendre Organic Eprints

La drosophile du cerisier Drosophila suzukii a été introduite en Europe en 2008 et a déjà causé de gros dégâts dans le bassin méditerranéen. Ce nouveau ravageur a été identifié en Suisse pour la première fois au cours de l’été passé. Cette drosophile s’attaque à tous les fruits à chair tendre (baies, cerises, raisins) et à de nombreux fruits sauvages. Cette année, toutes les cultures sensibles doivent être surveillées avec des pièges au vinaigre de pomme. Pour la prévention des attaques, il est recommandé d’utiliser des filets à mailles fines, de faire des piégeages de masse et de détruire les fruits attaqués. L’OFAG a autorisé sous conditions l’utilisation de Spinosad et de pyrèthre.

Du soufre contre le phytopte du poirier – Efficacité confirmée Organic Eprints

Les essais effectués cette année par le FiBL et par Agroscope Changins et Wädenswil confirment la bonne efficacité du soufre contre le phytopte du poirier. Dans les vergers atteints, il est recommandé de faire un traitement au soufre (à 2 pour-cent) après la récolte des poires.

Du soufre en automne contre le phytopte du poirier Organic Eprints

Le phytopte du poirier est un ravageur qui ne fait que des apparitions très localisées mais où il peut provoquer d’immenses dégâts. Les actuelles stratégies de lutte ne sont pas fiables. Avec des traitements au soufre en automne, le FiBL a trouvé une méthode simple et très efficace pour maîtriser cet acarien. Cette méthode est encore en cours d’homologation.

Ecological selectivity of pesticides and application methods Organic Eprints

According to David Pimentel, 20 years ago, less than 0.1% of the pesticides applied reached their target pests (Pimentel, 1995). This was partly due to ‘poor’ application methods and partly because of the minuscule amount of pesticide either picked up or consumed by the pest. At the time, Pimentel was describing the application of pesticides mainly by sprays, including aerial spraying, and both pesticide chemistry and application technology have improved since then. However, a considerable proportion of pesticides are still applied as sprays, either to crop foliage or to the soil, and this continues to be a relatively untargeted method of application.

This is a property of the chemistry and mode of action of the pesticide and the physiological and biochemical attributes of organisms. Effect of cultural methods on leaf spot (Mycosphaerella fragariae) and gray mold (Botrytis cinerea) damage in strawberries Organic Eprints

Damage of leaf spot, caused by Mycosphaerella fragariae and gray mold also called Botrytis fruit rot, caused by Botrytis cinerea, average fruit weight and yield were evaluated with regard to cultural methods over two years. Leaf spot damage decreased significantly by around 90 % due to leaf sanitation (removal of dead and leaf spot infected leaves in early spring) and by 50 % due to plantation in a one-row-system instead of a two-row-system. When all leaves including the healthy green ones were removed in early spring average fruit weight decreased significantly by 10 %. Introduction: Leaf spot caused by Mycosphaerella fragariae Tul. is one of the most common diseases of strawberry. The control of leaf spot mostly relies on the application of protective fungicides (MAAS 1998). In organic agriculture the use of copper products is effective (VUKOVITS 1980) but this has a negative influence on soil fertility.(BERGMANN 1993).Therefore its use in strawberry crops should also be reduced.

Effect of essential oils on host plant location of pollen beetles – Olfactometer and field-cage experiments 2013. Organic Eprints

Essential oils can have an impact on pollen beetle (Meligethes spp.) host plant location behaviour. Lavender oil (Lavendula angustifolia) showed the highest repellency value in laboratory studies comparing five different essential oils (Mauchline et al. 2005). However, lavender oil is one of the most expensive essential oils – a fact that could seriously hamper onfarm implementation of this strategy. Abstract: The impact of treatments with the pyrethrin insecticide Pyrethrum FS and the repellent kaolin product Surround WP to control the autumn forms of Dysaphis plantaginea Pass. (Homoptera: Aphididae), a major pest insect on apple, was assessed in one-year field experiments in Switzerland. Single and multiple applications of pyrethrin and kaolin were tested at different dates after apple harvesting in autumn 2002 when sexuales of the rosy apple aphid were present. Repeated applications of Surround WP in autumn significantly reduced the number of females in autumn and, consequently, the number of hatched fundatrices in spring.
