Mittelprüfung 2015: Kontrolle der Kirschessigfliege Drosophila suzukii auf Weintrauben Organic Eprints

Im Jahr 2015 wurde an den Sorten Chambourcin und Prior im Rebberg in Frick ein Versuch angelegt, um die Wirksamkeit von Nekapur (Löschkalk, Calciumhydroxid), Surround (Tonerde, Kaolin), N-2015 (Versuchsprodukt), Klinospray + Heliosol (Gesteinsmehl, Klinoptilolith + Haftmittel, Pinienöl) gegen die Kirschessigfliege Drosophila suzukii zu testen. Die Flugaktivität von D. suzukii wurde mit „Becherfallen“ überwacht: Nach dem heissen Sommer war die Population von D. suzukii eher niedrig. Die unterschiedlich behandelten Verfahren hatten keinen Einfluss auf die Flugaktivität. Aufgrund der niedrigen Fliegenpopulation konnten im Versuch keine Eiablagen im Rebberg festgestellt werden. Im Sommer 2016 wurde an der Weinsorte Cabernet Cortis in Elfingen ein Versuch angelegt, um die Wirksamkeit von Nekapur (Löschkalk, Calciumhydroxid) und dem Versuchsprodukt N-2015 gegen die Kirschessigfliege Drosophila suzukii zu testen. Aufgrund des geringen Befallsdruck konnte im Versuch lediglich eine geringe Eiablage im Rebberg festgestellt werden. Es konnten keine Nebenwirkungen der geprüften Mittel auf Nichtzielorganismen gefunden werden. Aufgrund der niedrigen Anzahl an Nichtzielorganismen in der unbehandelten Kontrolle, kann dazu jedoch noch keine abschliessende Aussage getroffen werden. Neem-Azal T/S to control leafhoppers and aphids in greenhouse sweet pepper and tomato. Organic Eprints

Aphids and leafhoppers can cause heavy damage to sweet pepper (Capsicum annuum) and tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). Neem-Azal T/S was therefore evaluated in greenhouse experiments for leafhopper and aphid control. In 2005, five organic greenhouse compartments were treated with Neem-Azal T/S (0.2%, 1000-1500 L water ha-1; two treatments on tomato; three treatments on sweet pepper) for control of leafhoppers; four greenhouse compartments were left as untreated controls. Leafhopper flight activity was monitored using yellow sticky traps. Leaf damage was estimated by evaluating the fifth leaf from the top of the plant on 100 plants per plot. Neue Wege zur Regulierung der Kirschfruchtfliege Rhagoletis cerasi in der biologischen Süsskirschenproduktion Organic Eprints

Spinosad in der Formulierung Audienz weist nur eine unzureichende Wirkung gegen die Kirschfruchtfliege auf. Auch die Beimischung von Neem erhöht die Wirkung nicht signifikant. Alle momentan verfügbaren Frassköder sind für die Kirschfruchtfliege nur bedingt geeignet und sollten noch einmal unter standardisierten Bedingungen im Labor verglichen werden. Das Verfahren Attract&Kill in der Frutect-Falle funktioniert nicht, über andere Typen einer Bait-Station sollte nachgedacht werden.

Neues Biomittel schaltet Kirschenfliege weitgehend aus Organic Eprints

Die Kirschenfliege trat in den letzten Jahren verstärkt auf und verursachte hohe Ertragsausfälle. Ab 2009 ist nun das Mittel «Naturalis-L» zur Bekämpfung zugelassen. In Versuchen wurde ein Wirkungsgrad von 70 Prozent erreicht. Das sieht nach einem Durchbruch für den Biokirschenanbau aus. Für den erfolgreichen Einsatz gilt es jedoch einige Stolpersteine zu umgehen.

New Approaches to Organic Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) Production in Alkaline Field Soils Organic Eprints

Production of Vaccinium corymbosum L. is limited to acidic soils with high organic matter content. This specific soil requirement is limiting the possibilities to cultivate V. corymbosum L. in many regions of Central Europe. The aim of this study was to overcome the limiting production factors occurring under the soil and climate conditions of Switzerland: (1) evaluation of natural growing substrates without peat as required for organic production; (2) adjustment of the optimal pH in the growing substrate; (3) regulation of water issues (water quality and mulching) and (4) development of a suited planting system. Nitrogen supply for winter oilseed rape Organic Eprints

Optimal fertilisation ensures that the current rapeseed varieties and reach their full yield potential. Practical recommendation • In conventional cultivation, the nitrogen uptake of winter oilseed rape amounts to 140 kg N per ha for a yield expectation of 35 dt per ha. In organic agriculture, about 100 kg suffice for a yield expectation of 20-25 dt. • The ideal time for cultivating oilseed rape is after grass-clover or legumes. After grains, apply about 30 tonnes per ha of manure or manure compost before cultivating rapeseed. • In dry conditions in spring, an early single application of nitrogen is preferable to two smaller applications. In recent years, an increasing market for blueberries has developed in Switzerland. Blueberries are well suited for organic production because few disease and insect pests are currently found under Swiss conditions. Soil conditions present the greatest obstacle to blueberry cultivation in that Swiss soils are often too alkaline and have low soil organic matter content. In this deliverable of the Project OK-Net Arable project, the findings from peer-review research on the productivity of organic arable crops are reported. Then the conclusions and recommendations for five most important levers which can be used by the farmers are presented. Finally, the most important recommendations of the EIP-AGRI Focus Group on Organic Farming - Optimizing Arable Yields are summarized in order to put innovation on organic farms in its social context.

In many crops, the intensive use of pesticides causes major problems both for the environment and for natural ecosystem services. Apple is Europe's most frequently produced orchard fruit, requiring high pesticide input to combat the most important apple insect pests, Dysaphis plantaginea (Passerini) and Cydia pomonella (L.). Here we sought to control these pests by promoting natural enemies using sown perennial flower strips. We trialled these in the alleyways of organic apple orchards in seven European countries. Holistic approaches to pest management that aim at maximising self-regulation and resilience of orchards are a key goal in organic farming (see chapter 2). Pest management starts even before planting an orchard by site selection, orchard layout, planting systems (tree densities and pruning system), choice of cultivar and rootstock as well as cultivation techniques. Cultivation techniques and measures applied for disease control can also influence the dynamics of pest insects within orchards and need to be included in a holistic system view.
