Для Mytilus galloprovincialis, Ostrea edulis и Crassostrea gigas у черноморских берегов России, Украины, Румынии и Болгарии приведен список видов симбионтов и их ареалы. Установлено, что характер распространения симбионтов определяется экологическим типом биоты. The most significant genetic improvement for the production of Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) up until now has been obtained through the production of triploids, particularly since the development of tetraploids in the mid 90s. Alternatively, quantitative genetics studies suggest that significant gains could be obtained in traits of aquacultural interest. However, the limited extent of hatchery propagation (compared with natural recruitment) in some countries and/or technical difficulties and biological characteristics of this species have retarded the development of selective breeding programs for C. gigas. Massive mortality outbreaks, mostly affecting spat Crassostrea gigas, have been reported in France since 2008. Disease investigations revealed that most of the mortality events are related to the detection of the Ostreid herpesvirus 1 (OsHV-1 μVar). The analysis of the official statistics of commercialised production of oysters (.Crassostrea angutata and Crassostrea gigas ) is achieved from 1866 to 1984 in term of their numbers and weights for the bay of Marennes-Oleron. The number of sanitary labels, multiplied by the mean weight of a crate can also give out the commercialised production provided it is increased by the bias and decreased by the exterior production of the bay . Thus the production of Portuguese oysters is only 45 000 tons from 1948 to 1957 with a maximum of 52, 000 tons for respectively 70 000 tons and 280 000 tons for the statistics . AIso, after the epizooties of Crassostrea angulata the production, fell down to 25 000 tons in 1971 according to the number of sanitary labels...

Estimation des stocks d'huîtres en élevage dans la Baie de Bourgneuf en 2002 ArchiMer

Depuis plusieurs années, un déficit de croissance est noté en baie de Bourgneuf et confirmé par les résultats du réseau REMORA qui montrent des gains de poids très nettement inférieurs à la moyenne nationale. Ce déficit de croissance s'accentue particulièrement en 2000. L' une des hypothèses pouvant être mise en avant pour expliquer les causes de ce manque de croissance est la biomasse accrue des organismes filtreurs cultivés ou non : huîtres, moules, crépidules. Afin d'avoir un e vision globale du fonctionnement de l'écosystème de la baie, il est nécessaire d'étudier l' importance relative de ces différents stocks de coquillages. La détection des pontes dans le milieu naturel : application de l'ostréographie à l'étude de la reproduction des huîtres ArchiMer

L'activité valvaire particulière qui accompagne la ponte chez les Crassostrea sp. permet de déceler le frai de ces huîtres. La possibilité de contrôler le comportement des mollusques par ostréographie dans le milieu naturel, est mise à profit pour déterminer la date exacte du frai. Les résultats ainsi obtenus renforcent les indications fournies par les données traditionnelles des examens de maturité sexuelle et de numération de larves dans le plancton . Un exemple basé sur les observations réalisées au cours de la saison de reproduction de 1974 dans le bassin d'Arcachon le confirme.

L'huître creuse Crassostrea gigas a été importée en France à la fin des années 60 suite aux épizooties rencontrées sur l'huître creuse portugaise Crassostrea angulata. Crassostrea gigas s'est largement répandue au cours du siècle dernier et représente aujourd'hui 86% des huîtres cultivées dans le monde. Le programme "GENEPHYS 1996-2000", cofinancé par la CEE et par la Région Poitou-Charentes vise à étudier les traits physiologiques pour établir des relations avec les caractères génétiques et la croissance. L'objectif final étant de pouvoir sélectionner des huîtres en fonction de leurs rendements métaboliques. L'Ifremer de La Tremblade s'est chargée de constituer plusieurs générations d'huîtres creuses Crassostrea gigas afin d'en comparer la croissance....

We compared the temporal dynamics of gametogenesis in diploid and triploid Pacific oysters (Crassostrea gigas) using histology. Oysters were reared in an estuarine farming site in Brittany over 3 years and their gametogenesis was monitored over the exceptionally hot summer of 2003. Both diploids and triploids showed active gametogenesis, but a high proportion of triploids remained at early stages of gonad development. The Marennes Oléron Bay, the main French oyster culture basin, is an estuarine zone which is subject to anthropic pressure. Meteorological parameters such as temperature, insolation, pluviometry determine, for the most part, the water temperature and salinity conditions for each season and control the nutrient fluxes, as well as the primary and secondary production of the basin. The average air temperature (Météo -France) stays around 12.5°C between 1950 and 1980, then rises more than 1°C in 20 years. In those 50 years, average insolation drops from 198 hours to 176 hours, corresponding to an 11% decrease. To date, the most significant method to genetically reduce reproductive effort in the Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) has been through the production of triploids, especially since the development of tetraploid lines allowing the breeding of 'natural' triploids. Gametogenesis of triploid oysters is strongly reduced compared with diploids, although they are not fully sterile and can produce viable gametes and some progenies when crossed with diploids. Reduced reproductive allocation and higher heterozygocity are commonly proposed as the main reasons why triploids often present superior yield compared with diploids. In order to study individual growth variability and its relationship with survival in juvenile Crassostrea gigas, parental oysters were sampled at four sites located along the French Atlantic coast and bred under controlled hatchery conditions. Four groups of larvae were obtained by crossing five males and five females from each of the four sites, and a fifth group by crossing these 20 males and 20 females together in a pool. Pavlova lutheri: Production, preservation and use as food for Crassostrea gigas larvae ArchiMer

The haptophyte Pavlova lutheri was cultivated in a 4-l flat alveolar photobioreactor (FAP) in semi-continuous mode during 35 days, achieving a mean volumetric productivity of 0.4 g l-1 day-1. The microalgal culture was harvested from the photobioreactor at an average concentration of 3.5 g l-1 and subjected to different storage conditions in which the effects of temperature (1 °C, 4 °C and 25 °C), air supply and preservative (ascorbic or propionic acid) addition on the viability of the stored suspensions were investigated. Programme qualité des huîtres creuses Crassostrea gigas : 1ère année (1995) ArchiMer

Variability of oyster quality at marketable size in winter was assesed by using a proportional sampling strategy based upon the yearly production of the oyster packing house. Landings per unit of production were estimated using the number of commercialized sanitary certification labels or/and the annual landings declared to the Veterinary Services. The range of variability for 15 parameters was estimated using the national monitoring network (REMORA) data outputs and a regional questionnaire. Both data sources showed similar results. Condition indices and morphological factors led to the highest variability. However, these conclusions should be confirmed by additional studies considering seasonal trends to assess the described quantitative relationships.

L'huître japonaise Crassostrea gigas a été introduite dans le bassin d'Arcachon à la suite de l'épizootie qui a décimé l'huître portugaise, Crassostrea angulata en 1970. L'importation de géniteurs, les "huîtres mères" (1971 et 1972) et de naissain, ont permis à l'espèce nouvellement introduite, de coloniser rapidement l'ensemble de la baie. Le présent travail a pour but de rapporter sous forme synthétique les résultats obtenus en ce qui concerne les numérations de véligères de C. gigas de 1971 à 1983 inclus.

Ecotoxicological effects of organotin compounds on oyster culture ArchiMer

The toxic effect of trialkyltin compounds is used in antifouling paints to protect vessels against biofouling organisrns. Tributyltin oxide (TBTO) or fluoride (TBTS) leaches by diffusion from the paint layer into the seawater. Trialkyltin compounds in aqueous solutions are resistant to hydrolysis and biodegradation, but are rapidly converted into diakyl, monoalkyl and inorganic tin by UV irradiation. As inhibiting agents of the oxidative phosphorylation, organotin compounds are extremely dangerous for aquatic organisms such as molluscs. Response to divergent selection for resistance to summer mortality in Pacific oyster spat : genetic parameters and correlated responses with subsequent survival and growth ArchiMer

The multidisciplinary program "MOREST" aims to improve our understanding of causes of summer mortality in Crassostrea gigas juveniles in France and to reduce its impact on oyster production. As part of this program, four successive generations of families were bred between 2001 and 2005 in our research hatchery in La Tremblade. Survival and growth were recorded in the field in three sites along the French coast (Ronce, Rivière d'Auray and Baie des Veys).
