Whole-Farm Evaluation of No-Till Profitability in Rice Production using Mixed Integer Programming AgEcon

Rice production in Arkansas usually involves intensive tillage. No-till rice has been studied, but the focus has been limited to impacts on yields and per acre returns. This study uses mixed integer programming to model optimal machinery selection and evaluate whole-farm profitability of no-till management, for rice-soybean farms. Results indicate that lower machinery ownership expenses combined with lower fuel and labor expenses do enhance the profitability of no-till management, but the monetary gains appear to be modest, implying that other incentives may be necessary to entice producers to use the practice.

Zoneamento ecologico do estado do Parana para a producao de sementes de cultivares precoces de soja. Repositório Alice

Durante as safras agricolas de 1976/77, 1978/79, 1979/80, 1981/82 e 1982/83, foram coletadas 1226 amostras de sementes de soja da cultivar Parana, provenientes de produtores estabelecidos no Estado do Parana, para, atraves da avaliacao das qualidades fisiologicas e sanitaria, determinar-se as regioes mais aptas a producao de sementes. Na avaliacao da qualidade das amostras de semente, foram utilizados os testes de sanidade ("blotter"), de germinacao padrao e de tetrazolio. Apos cinco anos de avaliacao, o Estado do Parana foi dividido em tres regioes ecologicas: T1, temperatura media do mes mais quente (fevereiro) > 24o C; T2, temperatura media entre 24o C e 22o C; T3, temperatura media < 22o C. การทดสอบเสถียรภาพของสารหอม 2-Acetyl-1-pyrroline ในเมล็ดถั่วเหลืองฝักสด Thai Agricultural

In this study, quantification and stability analysis of 2-Acetyl-1-pyrroline (2AP) in different growth stages of two fragrant soybean cultivars, Chamame and Kaori, and one non-fragrant soybean cultivar, Chiang Mai 60 (CM60), grown for seven environments at Maejo University were reported. The results revealed that 2AP concentration was the highest in full seeds at R6 stages, followed by in leaves at V5 and in full pods at R6 being 6.21, 3.08 and 2.58, respectively. The objective of this experiment was to investigate the advantages of seed production of three legume crops, stalkless yard long bean, cowpea and soybean; as intercropping in new rubber plantation. Each legume crop was planted 2 rai. Soil analysis was conducted before and after planting the intercropping legumes. Growths of rubber plants with and without intercropping were monitored monthly until harvesting legume. The result found that the legumes as intercropping in new rubber plantation improved organic matters and nitrogen level in soil, whereas rubber plant decreased soil acidity. GC96026-10 is one of 31 soybean lines with little beany flavor, introduced from AVRDC, Taiwan in 2003. The soybean lines were then selected for chemical and sensory quality (taste and flavor) accepted for soymilk production and higher yield than Chiang Mai 60, which was used as a check cultivar. Preliminary and standard trials were conducted during 2004-2006 at Lop Buri Agriculture Research and Development Center, Mueang, Lop Buri province. [[abstract]]行政院農委會農業試驗所為配合經濟部評估我國發展生質能源之潛力,近年 自澳洲引進Leichardt 品種大豆,並在全國各地進行試種。本研究在彰化縣和美鎮 休耕地進行95 年秋作撒播適栽試驗,為試驗區之一,並於96 年初收穫。試驗 結果顯示,受限於撒播方式,發芽率較不整齊,導致產量空間變異大,在病蟲 害用藥控制下,撒播方式之產量約為770 kg ha-1。試驗中亦發現,部分大豆在夜 間受到田邊路燈 (田區距光源約10–20 m 範圍) 的影響,營養生長較為旺盛,開花 期約延後一至四週,採收期延後一個月至一個半月,但產量略高於夜間未受光照 者,可達1000 kg ha-1 以上。

我國基因轉殖產品檢測流程之建立 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]近年來,全球基因改造(簡稱基改)技術急遽進展,尤以許多抗病蟲害、耐除草劑之基改作物已成功開發,並已大量推廣於田間栽培。衛生署負責基改食品之申請、安全性評估審查、上市、標示及檢驗等管理,業已完成「基因改造食品」安全性評估方法,並於2001 年2 月公告「基因改造之黃豆及玉米」查驗登記辦法及食品標示事宜。為配合衛生署政策實行及符合國際趨勢與消費者保護,衛生署藥物食品檢驗局(簡稱藥檢局)自2000 年起著手於基改食品檢驗方法開發,共建立基改大豆、玉米、木瓜、蕃茄及馬鈴薯等定性或定量檢驗方法30 種,同時,構築檢測用參考質體,並針對市售大豆、玉米及木瓜等相關產品進行標示調查與檢驗。為評估建立之檢驗方法,積極參與國際間精準度試驗,至目前,共參加美國農業部GIPSA 舉辦之國際性基改大豆及玉米檢驗方法精準度測試9 次,皆獲得優良成績。另,辦理國內首創基改食品檢驗方法實驗室間共同試驗,以測試及評估方法之準確性,2004 年計有16 間國內實驗室參加,涵蓋政府、學術單位及業界;同時,亦參加日本「農林水產省獨立行政法人食品總合研究所」舉辦之共同試驗。公開參考檢驗方法9 篇。另外,建置基改食品網站及發行平面出版品,以加強宣導及民眾教育。 In recent years, gene modification techniques have been greatly improved worldwide. 種子水分含量下降速率之探討 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]於農業試驗所國家作物種原中心之乾燥室內(溫度18~20℃,RH8~10 %)進行水稻、玉米、大豆、落花生、田菁、油菜、類地毯草和胡麻等作物種子水分含量下降曲線模式的推測,結果以對數方程式y=a + b 1n (x)為迴歸曲線時(其中x為乾燥日數,y為種子含水率,a為截距,b為迴歸係數),可發現利用實測值所推算之迴歸曲線之迴歸係數皆為極顯著,且決定係數R2>0.8,證明可以利用此形式迴歸曲線來估算種子含水率在種原中心乾燥室環境下之下降情形。另外,亦採用目前種原中心儲藏數量最多的三種作物-水稻、玉米和大豆為試驗材料,來推算種子含水率的對數迴歸曲線,進而以統計分析來檢定同一作物各品種間可否合併為一條迴歸曲線來表示。根據試驗結果可知,當種子初始含水率為12%時水稻供試品種中秈稻、長粒秈糯、圓秈糯、梗糯和陸稻可以合併為一含水率下降迴歸曲線:y = 9.1555 – 1.1898 1n (x),R2=0.9826,而梗稻則可合併成另一含水率下降迴歸曲線:y = 9.5751 – 1.12581 1n (x),R2=0.9912。故迴歸曲線合併與否,可能和水稻品種間種原分類和種子化學成分有關。當種子初始含水率為16%時,玉米所有供試品種可合併為一含水率下降迴歸曲線:y = 11.302 – 1.7182 1n (x),R2=0.9807。就玉米而言,種子水分含量之下降與品種特性無關。當種子初始含水率為14%時,大豆供試品種百粒重5.50~19.11g間可合併為一含水率下降迴歸曲線:y = 6.8808 – 1.1373 1n (x),R2=0.9061,而百粒重5.50g以下則可獨自形成一含水率下降迴歸曲線:y = 7.3667 – 0.6959 1n...
