Abstract ? the objective of this work was to evaluate the change in soil C and N mineralization due to successive pig slurry application under conventional tillage (CT) and no tillage (NT) systems. The experiment was carried out in a clayey Latossolo Vermelho eutrófico (Rhodic Eutrudox) in Palotina, PR, Brazil. Increasing doses of pig slurry (0, 30, 60 and 120 m3 ha-1 per year) were applied in both tillage systems, with three replicates. Liquid swine manures are produced in large volumes in the western Paraná and Santa Catarina states and are reused as a source of nutrients. This study aimed to evaluate the losses of nitrate (N-NO3-1) after application of liquid swine manures in three samples of a Latosol (Rhodic Eutrudox) with different levels of soil organic matter and pH collected at different depths. The experimental design was completely randomized with one soil, three levels of soil organic matter (34.09, 22.36 and 8.6 g dm-3), four pH in CaCl2 (4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0) conditions and three replications. The present study aimed to describe the bacterial community present at an anaerobic up flow bioreactor with ANAMMOX activity, inoculated with the sludge from the anaerobic pond of a swine slurry treatment system. The description was based on the molecular DNA techniques using primers for amplification of complete 16S rRNA gene and also new primers to amplify smaller fragments from 16S rRNA. During the bioreactor operation time, the bacterial community changed significantly, increasing the nitrogen removal efficiency, reaching after 500 days a removal rate of 94%. The utilization of organic wastes represents an alternative to recover degraded pasture. The experiment aimed to assess the changes caused by the provision of different organic waste (poultry litter, turkey litter and pig manure) in a medium-textured Oxisol in Brazilian Savanna under degraded pasture. It was applied different doses of waste compared to the use of mineral fertilizers and organic mineral and evaluated the effect on soil parameters (pH, organic matter, phosphorus and potassium) and leaf of Brachiariadecumbens (crude protein, phosphorus and dry mass production). The treatment of swine manure through composting is seen as an alternative to minimize environmental impact and im prove nutrient recycling. However, the degradation of organic matter during the composting process promotes greenhouse gas emissions (GHG: CO2, CH4, N2O), NH3 and water vapor. The objective of this study was to measure the flux of these gases to perform the mass balance (DM, TN, C and P) of composting piles. Three compost piles (3 m3, initial mass .935 kg of sawdust and slurry) were mounted inside PVC tunnels with controlled ventilation (flow 1.526 m3 /h).
