Anatomía de las Arterias de la Cabeza: Un Recurso Educativo Abierto como Herramienta Digital de Apoyo a la Enseñanza de la Anatomía International Journal of Morphology
Bucarey Arriagada,Sandra; Aravena Torres,Pedro; Pradenas Mera,Ilse; Tiznado Matzner,Gonzalo.

Biomethrics Study of the Upper and Lower Labial Artery in Human Cadavers International Journal of Morphology
Aravena Torres,Pedro; Suazo Galdames,Iván; Cantín López,Mario; Troncoso Pazos,Jorge; Coronado Gallardo,César.
The face is richly vascularizad by various branches of the facial artery. Among them are the upper and lower lips branches irrigate the lips and cheeks. The purpose of this study was to analyze the biometric characteristics of labials arteries of human corses . It disected 18 human midfaces, preserved on the basis of formalin and the arterial system repleted with red latex. It noted the trail of the facial artery and the presence of the upper and lower labial arteries. Anatomical fixed points were established to measure the distribution pattern of facial artery in the facial region and the origin and route of the upper and lower labial arteries. Of the 18 analyzed samples, 100% labial arteries presented an independent origin of the artery facial with an...

Lingual-facial Trunk Arising from the External Carotid Artery: A Case Report International Journal of Morphology
Pantoja Gonzalez,Constanza; Coronado Gallardo,César; Aravena Torres,Pedro; Suazo Galdames,Iván.
The variations in the origin of the facial and lingual arteries are very important in maxillofacial, head and neck surgery procedures. This study is a case report in which the common origin is described in the facial and lingual artery in a lingual-facial trunk (LFT) on the left side of a female corpse from Spain. In the examination, a diameter of 2.17 mm and a length of 8.84 mm are shown. It was located 12.04 mm from the carotid bifurcation and 9.31 mm from the origin of the superior thyroid artery. The variation in biometric values shown, are anatomical findings in the neck dissection of a corpse. Moreover, taking into account the surgical procedures, which involve the origin of facial and lingual artery, because it is the most common variation and could...

Relationship Between Volume of Pterygopalatine Fossa and Block Anesthesia of Maxillary Nerve: A Pilot Study International Journal of Morphology
Aravena Torres,Pedro; Cresp Sinning,Nicole; Büchner Sagredo,Katherine; Muñoz Rocha,Carlos; Cartes-Velásquez,Ricardo.
Block anesthesia of maxillary nerve 9BAMN) is achieved by depositing anesthesia through greater palatine canal into the pterygopalatine fossa. Authors differ in the amount of anesthesia to be administered and the rate of complications (diplopia and hematomas), Coronado et al., (2008), measured the size of the pterygopalatine fossa finding an average of 1.2 ml, suggesting that amount of anesthesia for BAMN. The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness of low doses of 1.2 ml (LD)versus traditional dose of 1.8 m. (TD) of anesthesia for BAMN and its adverse effects. A quasi experimental exploratory clinical study was performed involving 82 patients where the anesthetic technique was suitable for tooth extraction procedure; patients were randomized in...
