REACTION OF RICE VARIETIES AND STRAINS TO BLAST IN THE UNIFORM BLAST NURSERY Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]A total of 161 varieties, selections, and lines were tested for reaction to com-posites of races of the blast fungus in the uniform blast nursery of the Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station during the 9-year period, 1956-1964. Forty out of 161 entries were found to have similar or higher resistance to leaf blast than the resistant check variety, Chianung 242. Among these, 5 were highly resistant, 25 resistant, and 10 moderately resistant. Only 3 commercial varieties were resistant while the other 19 varieties were susceptible to leaf blast. Twenty nine out of 33 entries resistant to leaf blast were also resistant to neck blast and the remaining 3 were susceptible. [[abstract]]本研究之目的為研討不同型水稻品種間雜交三個組合中五種數量性狀之遺傳力及其表型遺傳及環境之相關,藉此明瞭不同型水稻品種間雜交數量性狀之遺傳力及相關關係,使對水稻品種改良工作,得到裨益。 本試驗所用材料為二個梗稻品種,嘉農 242 及關果 65 ,與三個秈稻品種 Dular,Binicol 及 C19384 作下列三個之雜交組合; (1) Dular × 嘉農 242 (2) Binicol × C19384 (3) 嘉農 242 × 關東 55 採用逢機區集設計,重複四次,每區集內包括九個試區,單行區,行長四公尺,每行植三十株。所研研究性狀有每株谷產量,株高,穗數,穗重及穗長等,試驗資料係以單株為單位進行統計分析。水稻各種數量性狀 F2 之分佈,不同型間雜交(梗 × 秈),株高,穗長,穗重及每株谷產量 F2 之分佈有超過双親之範圍,同型間雜交, F2 之分佈,超過双親範圍者比較少。 水稻各種數量性狀間相關,一般遺傳相關在大多數情形下,比表型相關係數為大,每株谷重與株高,穗長,穗重及穗數之表型及遺傳相關大部份均為明顯之正關係。 水稻各種數量性狀之遺傳力,在 Dular × 嘉農 242 雜交組合力中,株高,穗長,穗重及每株谷產量之遺傳力比較高,此表示在 F2,世代中,對此性狀行選拔,其效果比較大,而在 Binical × C19384 及嘉農 242 × 關東 55 兩個雜交組合中,一般各性狀之遺傳力均較低,此表明在早期世代中,對此性狀行選拔,比較困難。 註:本研究之完成得國家長期發展科學委員會之補助,統計分析部份承本所李良先生之協助,特此一併誌謝。 The purpose of this study was to evaluate the heritability and...

[[abstract]]本研究目的為測定水稻產量的構成因素間相關及因果之關係,俾利於水稻育種上選育高產後裔之參考,藉以增進水稻育種選拔工作之效率,使對水稻品種改良,獲得幫助。 本研究所用材料為水稻秈稻 × 粳稻雜交組合F2後裔之試驗資料,該試驗於1964年第二期作在嘉義農業試驗分所舉行,所調查之性狀項目有株高、穗長、穗重、穗數及每株谷重量,每項性狀調查時,均以單株為單位,作為統計分析。每株谷重與株高、穗長、穗重及穗數之表現型及環境相關係數均為極顯著的正相關,在一般情形下,遺傳型的相關係數要比表現型相關係數為大。 由路經係數分析所得結果,獲知在水稻產量的構成因素中,對每株谷重最具有影響力的因素為穗重及穗數,但株高及穗長對每株谷重之影響力均為很小。 The objective of this study was to determine the application of the method of path-coefficients in analysis of the interrelations of camponents of yield with grain yield in rice.
