Emploi de microsatellites pour l'analyse de la diversité génétique des races bovines françaises : premiers résultats Inra

La caractérisation des races bovines françaises a débuté en utilisant comme principales sources de données des études morphologiques. Progressivement, grâce à l’évolution des techniques d’analyse de la variabilité génétique, d’autres critères ont pu être pris en compte. Des données concernant le polymorphisme des groupes sanguins, de certaines protéines sériques et des protéines du lait ont permis de distinguer 4 sous ensembles de races bovines françaises. Cette étude va être approfondie par une analyse du polymorphisme au niveau de l’ADN en utilisant de nouveaux marqueurs plus nombreux et plus polymorphes : les microsatellites. ABSTRACTAlthough susceptibility to scrapie is largely controlled by the PRNP gene, we have searched for additionalgenomic regions that affect scrapie incubation time in sheep, using two half-sib families with asusceptible PRNP genotype and naturally infected by scrapie. Background: Modern cattle originate from populations of the wild extinct aurochs through a few domestication eventswhich occurred about 8,000 years ago. Newly domesticated populations subsequently spread worldwide following breedermigration routes. The introduction of livestock species in Europe has been followed by variousgenetic events, which created a complex spatial pattern of genetic differentiation. Spatialprincipal component (sPCA) analysis and spatial metric multidimensional scaling (sMDS)incorporate geography in multivariate analysis. This method was applied to threemicrosatellite data sets for 45 goat breeds, 46 sheep breeds, and 101 cattle breeds fromEurope, Southwest Asia, and India. The first two sPCA coordinates for goat and cattle, andthe first sPCA coordinate of sheep, correspond to the coordinates of ordinary PCAanalysis.
