Traditional practice of leaf litter harvesting and utilization by farmers in west-central Bhutan: Paving the way for sustainable management Thai Agricultural

Forest is an important resource for the farmers in soil fertility management and crop production in Bhutan. The tradition of leaf litter harvesting from the forests has been in practice since time immemorial. However, the continuous leaf litter harvesting has raised concerns on the sustainability of the leaf litter forests (Sokshing). There is a paucity of information about harvesting practices, utilization and management of forests. Objective of this study was to test the application of amino acid chelate foliar fertilizers on the changes of growth, yield and quality of tomato seeds. The treatments consisted of two levels (FCB and FZP) of fertilizer formulas with two levels of concentrations (2 ml/l and 3 ml/l) weekly at vegetative stage and after flowering. The experiment was conducted at three production areas at Amphur Muang in Khon Kaen. The objective of this experiment was to study the effect of preceding legume-upland rice planting on soil fertility before succeeding sugarcane planting. The experimental design was Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications. The treatments were: (1) Control (2) Upland rice (rice planting without chemical fertilizer) (3) Upland rice + F (rice planting with chemical fertilizer) (4) Soybean (5) Sun hemp.
