1990至2002年臺灣水稻品種(系)抗稻熱病檢定 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]自1990 至2002 年間,農業試驗所嘉義分所稻熱病檢定圃,先後計檢定國內8 個稻 作改良場所育成水稻品種(系)2,606 個。參試品種(系)之罹病程度因年度與期作而異。一 般而言,水稻品種(系)對葉稻熱病之抗性較穗稻熱病為強,抗葉稻熱病之比例平均較抗 穗稻熱病者高出19.5%,其中在稻,除1990 年外,其兩者間均成顯著正相關(r =0. 65~0.91,P<0.01),惟秈稻對葉及穗稻熱病之抗性則表現較不一致。參試稻品種(系) 較秈稻容易罹患稻熱病,尤其是穗稻熱病;秈稻抗葉稻熱病之比例平均較稻高 12.6%,而抗穗稻熱病者更高出稻31.6%。稻品種(系)在第一期作較第二期作容易罹 病,在兩期作之罹病級數相差達1.26 級;而秈稻在兩期作之發病程度則較為一致,在 兩期作之罹病級數僅相差0.06 級。稻品種(系)在旱田式病圃對葉稻熱病之反應,除 1990 年外,均與其在水田式病圃之反應相當一致 ( r=0.46~0.90,P<0.01),而秈稻則較 不一致;但其發病程度均較水田式病圃嚴重,兩者之平均罹病級數相差達1.62 級。近 年來國內育成之抗病品種如臺8 號、臺11 號、臺14 號及臺16 號等,在其命名 推廣大面積栽植1 至5 年後即淪為感病,尤其是稻,因此加強選育具有持久性之抗病 品種已成刻不容緩之重要課題。

[[abstract]]1.本試驗係根據第一報(農業研究第16卷第1期)之試驗結果繼續檢討AM對中壢粘土,香山砂土,屏東壤土等不同性質土壤中,硝酸化作用抑制效果及對水稻產量之影響。 2.據土壤實驗結果得知AM對氮素之硝酸化作用抑制效果受土壤性質之影響並不大而對砂土的效果較優。 3.盆栽試驗結果AM對容易發生脫氮作用環境下對水稻直播栽培稻谷產量之增收均有效果。 1. Following the preliminary report, the effect of A.M. was further studied on certain soils of varied properties. 2. The effect of A.M. was larger in sandy soil than in loamy or clayey soil. 3. A.M. may be advantageous for the cultivation methods under which denitrification is inevitable. (e. g., direct, sowing of rice under upland condition.)

2-Amino-4-chloro-6-methylpyrimidine抑制氮肥硝酸化作用之研究(第1報) Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]本試驗之目的為探討2-Amino-4-chloro-6-methylpyrimidine(簡稱AM)之施用對于水稻產量之影響,及對土壤中硝酸化作用之抑制效果,於1966年間採用直播栽培法舉行水稻盆栽試驗,並在實驗室內分析土壤中之NH3-N和NO3-N生成量,以究明所施尿素之銨化及硝酸化情形,測定AM之硝酸化抑制效果。 據盆栽試驗結果AM之施用對于稻谷之增收確有效果,土壤實驗結果示AM對尿素之銨化作用並無影響,但對其硝酸化卻有顯然抑制效果。 由以上結果可以推知AM在容易發生脫氮作用之環境下(如輪流灌溉地區或缺水地區水稻直播栽培)對于氮素肥料肥效之增進將有裨益。但實際應用效果如何尚待繼續試驗。 To test the effect of 2-Amino-4-chloro-6-methyl pyrimidine (A.M.) as a nitrifica-tion inhibitor in soil and its applicability in rice culture, a pot experiment under which loss of nitrogen by percolation and denitrification prevailed was conducted. [[abstract]]This paper lists 2 families, 3 genera and 43 species of Taiwanese Mecoptera (Insecta). References, synonyms, collecting localities and Chinese names are also included. Besides, the recorded localities of two species, Neopanorpa formosensis Navás and Panorpa lachlani Navás, may be a mistake in original description, and probably belong to Japan.

A Comparative Study on the Behavior of Nutrient Uptake between Jute (Corchorus capsularis) and Kenaf (Hibscus cannabinus) Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]Jute, Hoowae blue No.7 and kenaf, Madras red, were grown at the different rates of fertilization and a study. was made on the different behaviors. in the uptake of nutrient elements between them. Pot culture with the same treatments was also conducted so as to collect the shedded leaves during growth and the nitrogen content in leaves between jute and kenaf was compared. The dry matter content both of jute and kenaf increased significantly with the increasing rate of fertilization up to a certain level, beyond which, however, an increased supply of fertilizers was unaccompanied by further striking increase in plant growth. [[abstract]]The authors have previously reported (1963) that poor kill of the larvae of the paddy borer, Schoenobius (Tryporyza) incertulas Walker became evident with some foliar sprays applied by a conventional knapsack sprayer beyond certain stage after transplanting when growth of the plants was so dense preventing the sprays from hitting the straws in which the larvae were feeding. In this trial, an investigation was made to determine whether or not significant control of the rice stem borer, Chilo suppressalis Walker which similarly feeds in the straw as the paddy borer, could be obtained with some compounds applied only once soon after transplanting before growth of paddy reached undesirable conditions for foliar treatment....

A New Record of Bulb Mite, Rhizoglyphus setosus Manson, (Acarina: Acaridae) from Taiwan Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]Bulb mites were reported to be pests as they attacked the crops with tubers or bulbs (Manson 1972), Most of the bulb mites were identified as Rhizoglyphus spp. Many species of the genus and their host plants had been described, such as R. rhizophagus (Bald & Jefferson 1952) and R. echinopus (Forsberg 1959) infested on gladiolus corms, R. solani attacked the seedling roots of onions (Rawlins 1955), R. echinopus (Cottier 1956) and R. hyacinthi (Miller 1944) were referred as the species capable of attacking practically all kinds of tubers or bulbs, Manson (1972) reported that R. robini and R. echinopus fed on garlic bulbs, R. robini was found to be a pest of onions (Gerson et al. 1985), green onions and lilies (Kuwahara 1986). A New Species of Neoneurinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) from Taiwan Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]Elasmosoma taiwanense sp. n. (Braconidae: Neoneurinae) from Taiwan is described and illustrated. Neoneurinae is a small subfamily, containing endoparasitoids of adults of worker nts. it consists of the genera Elasmosoma, Euneoneurus, Neoneurus and Parelasmosoma. Elasmosoma previously included only 11 species in the world. In this paper a new species from Taiwan is added to the fauna of the world. The type specimens of this species are doposited in the insect collection of the Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, Taichung, Taiwan. 蟻繭蜂亞科之種類為螞蟻之寄生蜂,目前全世界已知之種類約有 4 屬 20 種。該亞科為臺灣之新紀錄,本文描述臺灣蟻繭蜂(Elasmosoma taiwanense Chou,新種)之形態特徵,並輔以照片說明。

A Novel Strategy for Plant Virus Resistance Using Artificial miRNA Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]Plant micro-RNAs (miRNAs) are 21-nt-long Small RNAs that regulate the abundance of target mRNAs by guiding cleavage at the sequence complementary region. We found that DNA sequences encoding Aiabidopsis pre-miRNAs can be expressed from a 35S promoter in transgenic plants to produce mature miRNAs. Moreover, sequences in pre-miRNAs can be modified to produce artificial miRNAs (amiRNAs) of a pre-determined sequence. Here, we describe a novel strategy to express amiRNA designed to target and degrade offending viral RNAs thereby conferring specific resistance. The amiRNA-mediated approach should have broad applicability for engineering multiple virus resistance in crop plants.
