การประเมินคุณค่าทางโภชนะและคาร์โบไฮเดรตในรูปน้ำตาลที่ละลายได้ของเศษเหลือจากสับปะรด Thai Agricultural

The objective of this study was to determine nutritive value and sugar soluble carbohydrate ofpineapple residue. Six treatments were (1) fresh pineapple peel, (2) composted pineapple peel, (3) grind composted pineapple peel, (4) pineapple pulpmeal, (5) pineapple leaf, and (6) pineapple crown. The experiment was conducted in completely randomized design. The results were shown that structural carbohydrate was higher in pineapple peel than pineapple pulp, crown and leaf. Fat content was highest in pineapple leaf. Soluble sugar carbohydrate was higher in pineapple leaf and pulp. In conclusion, pineapple leaf and pulp have potential of being roughage source for dairy and beef cattle.

การประเมินศักยภาพผลผลิตของพันธุ์อ้อยอาหารสัตว์ Thai Agricultural

Eight improved clones of forage-cane were evaluated for biomass yield performance under irrigatedcondition at Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen campus, Nakhon Pathom during 2011-2012. The study wasdesigned with randomized complete blocks design with 4 replications in 3 crop-cycles, newly planted, first-ratoon and second ratoon that harvested at 6, 4 and 4 month after planting/ratooning, respectively. Total fresh biomass yield from 3 crop-cycles was 40.47 ton/rai. The total yield of 3 crop-cycles varied between 27.44 and 46.46 ton/rai. High biomass yield obtained from the new clones 28-2113, 28-2114 and 28-1727 that were equal to 46.46, 44.86 and 42.96 ton/rai, respectively. Objective of this study was to estimate methane production in Thai native cattle fed dried Ruzi grass or rice straw based diets. Twelve Thai native bull (body weight 342.25±30.46 kg.) were used in this experiment. Dietary treatments were applied in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) consisted of ad libitum mixed 70%of concentrate with 30% of dried Ruzi grass based diet (T1), ad libitum 70% of concentrate with 30% of rice straw based diet (T2) and 70% of concentrate with 30% of rice straw based diet stair step feeding (T3). The influence of lactic acid bacteria powder compared with antibiotic on carcass characteristics was assessed at 42 day of age in broiler chickens. คุณภาพเนื้อของโคดอย และโคขาวลำพูน เปรียบเทียบกับโคลูกผสมบราห์มัน Thai Agricultural

The study was conducted to investigate the meat quality of Mountainous and White Lamphun cattle compared to Brahman crossbred. Twenty four cattle with the average age of 4 years old, and raised under natural grazing conditions were used in the experiment in a completely randomized design. The result found that Longissimus dorsi of Mountainous beef had lower (P < 0.05) maximum shear force value (51.8 N) and higher (P < 0.05) soluble collagen content (0.317 g/100g meat) compared to Brahman crossbred (55.0 N and 0.261 g/100g meat) and White Lamphun beef (58.8 N and 0.270 g/100g meat). The study on life cycle of stable fly, Stomoxys calcitrans (L.) was conducted at 25+1oC, 76-84% R.H. The entire life-cycle from egg to adult was 30.79+4.38 days. An incubation period of egg was 2.60+0.71 days. Larval period, pupal period, and longevity of female and male were 8.70+1.18 days, 5.80+0.70 days, 11.43+4.35 days and 15.95+4.26 days, respectively. Population of stable flies was monitored by counting the fly on front legs of beef calf and from sweep net. To count the fly during feeding on front legs of beef calf, a 12 x 2 factorial experiment in completely randomized design (CRD) was applied with 4 replications of one-year-old beef calves (native hybrid x Brahman) in individual pen. The study was conducted to determine effect of EB or CS supplements in LAMP reaction on greater accuracy of sexing cattle embryos. Bovine ovaries were collected from the slaughterhouse, oocytes were aspirated from follicles then were evaluated morphology. Oocytes were cultured in TCM-199 at 38.5 ºC 24 h. For in vitro fertilization (IVF), oocytes were co-incubated with spermatozoa at 38.5 ºC 24 h. Fertilization rate was evaluated and then the embryos were in vitro cultured until morula stage. Then, embryo samples were frozen and stored at -196 ºC. Frozen embryos (n=35) were randomly extracted for total cellular DNA and amplified by PCR method. DNA samples were stored at -20 ºC. This experiment aimed to investigate the effect of Mao pomace (MP) levels on degradability and rumen gas production using in vitro gas production techniques. The experiment was designed by a completely randomized design (CRD). The dietary treatments were supplemented by MP at 0, 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 mg with 0.5 g of roughage and concentrate ratio at 60:40. It was found that gas production from the insoluble fraction (b) had no effect (p>0.05) by MP supplementation, while potential extent of gas production (a+b) and gas production rate (c) were significantly different among treatments.
