According with the studies realized the litter from peach palm (pupunha) contibutes with only 110 g/ha or 0,1% of total soil C to the C budget of the system. On the other hand it produces high quantities of root exudates. About 16.500 kg/ha C or 15% of total soil C respectively are released into the soil. Taking into account the C loss by microbial respiration and root respiration peach palm contributes with 10.700 kg/ha or 10% of total soil C respectively to the C budget of the system. Compared to C from root exudates the quantity of C from microbial biobass under peach palm is low. Only 45 kg/ha or 0,0004% of the total C originate from the microbial biomass.

The experiments were carried out under controlled conditions to evaluate the impact of increased temperature and concentration of carbon dioxide on infection of Xanthomonas campestris pv viticola, the causal agent of bacterial canker in Vine seedlings. It proceeded the evaluation of the following epidemiological components: incubation period (PI), severity (SEV) and using that data were calculated the area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC). It used grape seedlings (Italia, Crimson Seedless, Sugraone and Selection 8) inoculated with bacterial suspension (108 CFU mL-1). Single tree-effects on denitrification and soil microbial biomass in agroforestry systems and natural forests of the Amazon region. Repositório Alice

The present study was to find the effect of tree species (andiroba, cupuacu, Eschweilera sp, sumauma, urucu, Vismia sp)used in agroforestry system in Amazonian region (Brasil) and natural forests on the total biomass of heterotrophic microorganisms (BH), which is mainly responsible for CO2 emission, and on the biomass of denitrifiers (BD), which contro N2O emission. Both biomasses were studied using the kinetic method.Most commonly used fruits species, cupuacu and urucu (annatto) 2-3 times increased BD. The BH was also affected by tree species. Transpiration from an Amazonian rainforest calculated from stomatal conductance measurements. Repositório Alice

A multi-layer combination equation has been used to calculate transpiration from a tropical rainforest in the central Amazon, Brazil. The five-layer formulation used through-canopy measurements of temperature and humidity deficit with leaf stomatal and boundary layer conductances scaled up to canopy layer values used a profile of canopy leaf area index derived from the literature. Net radiation input to each layer values was estimated from an above canopy measurement using an extinction function and leaf area index.
