DIVERSIFOOD ist ein Horizon2020 Projekt, das Landwirtschaft und Lebensmittelproduktion mit neuen Denk- und Sichtweisen weiterentwickeln und fördern will. Ziel ist es, die Kulturpflanzenvielfalt in ein Netzwerk von Nutzerinnen und Nutzern (Züchtung, Produktion, Konsum) einzubetten und so regionale Ernährungssysteme in höchster Qualität zu entwickeln. To tackle this issue, Diversifood team organised a forum with policy makers and stakeholders on the 11th of April 2018, in Brussels. Diversifood’s aim is to share results and key lessons including new approaches for the management of cultivated biodiversity, for plant breeding for sustainable farming systems, and new relationships among actors of food systems. In the afternoon, there was time for discussion, knowledge sharing, collecting feedback and extending current policies to include cultivating diversity and food quality (for FP9, CAP 2020, The outputs of this workshop will feed Diversifood’s final recommendations. The forum was kindly hosted by the European Committee of the Regions (Rue Belliard/Belliardstraat 101, 1040 Brussels).

Embedding Diversity: Communication and Label Concept for Underutilized Crops – Checklist for your First Evaluation Organic Eprints

There are some very successful cases of marketing of underutilized crops in European countries. Examples are the marketing of rare varieties in Austrian and Swiss supermarkets. Other examples are market initiatives in Spain, France, or Italy, selling local produces and processed foods in specialised shops, at farmers markets, or directly at the farm. A consumer survey was conducted in 2017 in France, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland during DIVERSIFOOD project in order to gain additional data on such examples; and Rossi et al. (2016)1 developed the DIVERSIFOOD Case Study Framework. Ethvert husdyr og enhver kulturplante tager et lille bitte skridt i retning af yderligere domesticering hver gang, den får unger eller sætter frø. Opfører en hund sig som en ulv, bliver den aflivet, men jo mere den opfører sig som en god hund, jo større er dens chancer for at leve længe og få mange hvalpe. På denne måde sker der hele tiden en udvikling af tamhunden som art, og for hver generation bevæger den sig stille og roligt væk fra at være ulv. Denne proces er foregået i omkring siden jægerstenalderen for 40.000 år, længere end noget andet dyr. Derfor er hunden med tiden blevet menneskets bedste ven. Alle andre husdyr og kulturplanter hører agerbruget til, og de fleste kommer fra Mellemøsten, hvor domesticeringsprocessen startede for 10.000 år siden....

Fazit • Die meisten Trauben sind erst unmittelbar bei der Ernte oder nach der Ernte anfällig für Eiablagen. • Es bestand kein eindeutiger Zusammenhang zwischen Schalenfestigkeit und Eiablage • Es bestand kein Zusammenhang zwischen Eiablagerate und Eignung für die Larvalentwicklung (Muscat Bleu wird stark mit Eiern belegt, ist aber für die Larvalentwicklung schlechter geeignet als andere Sorten)
