ABSTRACT Little is known about the commercial potential of mini-tomato hybrids obtained from one dwarf parent. Thus, our objective was to evaluate the agronomic performance of mini-tomato hybrids obtained by crossing a dwarf line (A) with normal lines with indeterminate (I), determinate (D) and semi-determinate (SD) growth habits. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the Estação Experimental de Hortaliças at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia-UFU in Monte Carmelo, Brazil. Araucaria angustifolia (pinheiro-brasileiro ou araucária) é uma espécie nativa potencial para a silvicultura brasileira. No entanto, uma série de desafios e limitações técnicas ainda persistem, dificultando sua expansão como espécie para plantios florestais, dentre os quais se destaca a falta de avaliação de tecnologias de clonagem de materiais genéticos em condições de campo. Vessel elements in Monocotyledons present morphological differences according to the organ where they occur. Usually such diff erences have been explained from an evolutionary perspective, with few data on how the vessel elements could be infl uenced by the diff erent functions of organs and the growth habits of the plants. Genotypic variability in seed accumulation of foliar-applied molybdenum to common bean Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo

The genotypic variability in molybdenum (Mo) accumulation in common bean seeds has been demonstrated in cases in which soil is the main Mo source, but this variability is yet unknown when Mo is foliar-applied. Therefore, seed Mo concentrations (SMoCc) and seed Mo contents (SMoCt) of 12 genotypes were determined in four experiments in the Zona da Mata, Minas Gerais, Brazil, in which plants were sprayed with 600 g ha-1 Mo. For comparison, two additional experiments without external Mo were conducted. Without Mo application, the average SMoCc was undetectable or 2.83 µg g-1, without significant differences among genotypes. The genetic linkage map for the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is a valuable tool for breeding programs. Breeders provide new cultivars that meet the requirements of farmers and consumers, such as seed color, seed size, maturity, and growth habit. Low phosphorus supply markedly limits leaf growth and genotypes able to maintain adequate leaf area at low P could adapt better to limited-P conditions. This work aimed to investigate the relationship between leaf area production of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) genotypes during early pod filling and plant adaptation to limited P supply. Sazonalidade e soluções nutritivas na miniestaquia de Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze. Repositório Alice

Objetivou-se avaliar o efeito da sazonalidade e de soluções nutritivas na produção, sobrevivência, enraizamento e vigor radicial de miniestacas juvenis de Araucaria angustifolia, bem como o hábito de crescimento das mudas formadas. As minicepas foram manejadas em minijardim sob sistema semi-hidropônico, em que foram aplicadas duas soluções nutritivas, com diferentes concentrações de nutrientes, fornecidas por gotejamento, durante as quatro estações do ano. Após 11 coletas, as minicepas apresentaram 100% de sobrevivência. A maior produção ocorreu no verão, com 1.356 miniestacas.m-2.ano-1, e a menor no inverno, com 429 miniestacas.m-2.ano-1.
