牛枝肉における歩留補正に菱形筋を用いる妥当性の検討 OAK
山下, 直樹; 阿佐, 玲奈; 山田, 一孝; 大井, 幹記; 口田, 圭吾; YAMADA, Kazutaka; KUCHIDA, Keigo.

Steroid substrate-induced epimerase mechanism in the active site of the human 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 Nature Precedings
Olivier Hennebert; Matthieu Montes; Alain Favre-Reguillon; Henry Chermette; Clotilde Ferroud; Robert Morfin.
Cytochrome P4507B1 7[alpha]-hydroxylates dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), epiandrosterone (EpiA) and 5[alpha]-androstane-3[beta],17[beta]-diol (Adiol). 11[beta]-Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11[beta]-HSD1) interconverts 7[alpha]- and 7[beta]- forms. Whether the inter-conversion proceeds through oxido-reductive steps or epimerase activity is investigated. Experiments using ^3^H-labeled 7[beta]-hydroxy-DHEA, 7[beta]-hydroxy-EpiA and 7[beta]-hydroxy-Adiol show the ^3^H-label to accumulate in 7-oxo-DHEA trap but neither...

Identification of Adenovirus 7h Heterogeneity in the E3 Region Biol. Res.
BRUZZONE,MARISOL; BARRO,MARIO; SPENCER,EUGENIO.
Adenovirus genotype 7h was previously reported to be originated from a recombination event between adenovirus genotypes 7p and 3p. Based on those findings, further characterization of other adenovirus 7h strains become important to determine whether all adenovirus 7h strains arose from a single recombinational event. To explore such a possibility, 160 clinical isolates were studied after developing a PCR assay using a primer set designed to amplify the region corresponding to E3-7,7 Kd of adenovirus ADV 7p and E3-9 Kd of adenovirus 3p. The assay was able...

Cardiovascular actions of angiotensin-(1-7) BJMBR
Ferreira,A.J.; Santos,R.A.S..
Angiotensin-(1-7) (Ang-(1-7)) is now considered to be a biologically active member of the renin-angiotensin system. The functions of Ang-(1-7) are often opposite to those attributed to the main effector component of the renin-angiotensin system, Ang II. Chronic administration of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI) increases 10- to 25-fold the plasma levels of this peptide, suggesting that part of the beneficial effects of ACEI could be mediated by Ang-(1-7). Ang-(1-7) can be formed from Ang II or directly from Ang I. Other enzymatic pathways for Ang-(1-

Regulation of Pax7 protein levels by caspase-3 and proteasome activity in differentiating myoblasts Biol. Res.
Olguín,Hugo C.
The transcription factor Pax7 negatively regulates the activity of the muscle regulatory transcription factor MyoD, preventing muscle precursor cells from undergoing terminal differentiation. In this context, the ratio between Pax7 and MyoD protein levels is thought to be critical in allowing myogenesis to proceed or to maintain the undifferentiated muscle precursor state. We have previously shown that Pax7 is subject to rapid down regulation in differentiating myoblasts, via a proteasome-dependent pathway. Here we present evidence indicating that Pax7 is also subject to caspase-3-dependent regulation. Furthermore,...
