CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 was a short-growth duration rice variety which was suitable for irrigated area encountered flooding in raining season. This rice variety derived from three–way cross of Suphanburi 1 /IR64//CNT86074-25-9-1. CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 had maturity short growth duration so that it could be early harvested at about 87 days after sowing in wet season and 96 days in dry season. It had recorded yield potential of 1,004 kg/rai with the average yields of 681 kg/rai, which was comparable with the RD41 (742 kg/ rai), but 2% higher than that of RD43 (666 kg./rai). Plant stature of this variety was 80 cm. in height. Its grain was long slender shape, 10.54 mm. in length and 2.70 mm. in width, with straw colored paddy. Its 1,000 grains weight was 31.6 g. The color of its brown rice was white with the length of 8.13 mm., the width of 2.21 mm and the thickness of 1.86 mm. The whole grain was less chalkiness and high milling yield of 54.6% head rice, so it could be used to 100 percent - grade 1-rice. CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 was a high amylose content rice line (26.82%), low gel consistency (65 mm.), small alkali spreading value and normal cooked kernel elongation (1.71). It was moderately resistant to brown planthopper and leaf blast at Chainat and Phitsanulok area. It had 5-6 weeks of seed dormancy period. It was noted that this rice variety was susceptible to bacterial leaf blight and moderately susceptible to the rice blast of the Central region of Thailand.
CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2-20-2 เป็นข้าวที่มีอายุการเก็บเกี่ยวสั้น เหมาะสำหรับพื้นที่นาชลประทานที่มีปัญหาน้ำท่วมในฤดูฝน ได้จากคัดเลือกซ้ำ (reselection) สายพันธุ์ข้าว CNT96024-61-1-PSL-1-2 ซึ่งเป็นสายพันธุ์ที่ได้จากการผสมพันธุ์ 3 ทางระหว่าง สุพรรณบุรี 1/IR64//CNT86074-25-9-1 มีศักยภาพการให้ผลผลิตสูงถึง 1,004 กิโลกรัม/ไร่ ให้ผลผลิตเฉลี่ย 684 กิโลกรัม/ไร่ ต่ำกว่าพันธุ์ กข41 ที่ให้ผลผลิตเฉลี่ย 742 กิโลกรัมต่อไร่ สูงกว่าพันธุ์ กข43 ที่ให้ผลผลิตเฉลี่ย 666 กิโลกรัมต่อไร่ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 2 อายุเก็บเกี่ยวสั้น 87 วัน ในฤดูนาปี และ 96 วัน ในฤดูนาปรัง ความสูง 80 เซนติเมตร เป็นข้าวเจ้าเมล็ดยาว ข้าวเปลือกสีฟาง ยาว 10.54 มิลลิเมตร กว้าง 2.70 มิลลิเมตร หนา 2.13 มิลลิเมตร มีน้ำหนัก 1,000 เมล็ด 31.6 กรัม น้ำหนักข้าวเปลือก 10.8 กิโลกรัมต่อถัง ข้าวกล้องสีขาว ขนาดยาว 8.13 มิลลิเมตร กว้าง 2.21 มิลลิเมตร หนา 1.86 มิลลิเมตร รูปร่าง เรียว ท้องไข่น้อย คุณภาพการสีดีมาก ได้ข้าวเต็มเมล็ดและต้นข้าว 54.6 เปอร์เซ็นต์ สามารถผลิตเป็นข้าวสาร 100 เปอร์เซ็นต์ชั้น 1 ได้ เป็นข้าวอมิโลสสูง (26.82%) ความคงตัวของแป้งสุกอยู่ในระดับแป้งอ่อน มีค่าการไหลของแป้ง 65 มิลลิเมตร อุณหภูมิแป้งสุกต่ำ การยืดตัวของเมล็ดข้าวสุกปกติ (1.71 เท่า) ค่อนข้างต้านทานเพลี้ยกระโดดสีน้ำตาล ค่อนข้างต้านทานโรคไหม้ในเขตจังหวัดชัยนาท และพิษณุโลก ระยะพักตัว 5-6 สัปดาห์ ข้อควรระวัง อ่อนแอต่อโรคขอบใบแห้ง ค่อนข้างอ่อนแอต่อโรคไหม้ในเขตภาคกลาง
