A young specimen of pygmy killer whale (feresa attenuata), 91 cm long, stranded in San Pedro, province of Guayas (80°44'W, 01° 50'S) in 27 April 1992. The animal was frozen and examined after 20 days. External measurement and photographs of the specimen are presented. On 12 May 1993 a dwarf sperm whale (Kogia simus) got entangled in a gill-net 30 miles Southeast off Anconcito, Province of Guayas (02° 40'S, 81° 30'W) and the head was collected. It's total length was estimated in 2.2 m. Another specimen of the same species was found on a beach of Isabela Island. Province of Galpagos (02° 40' S, 81°30'W) in March 1990 and its sjeleton brought to the University of Guayaquil. Both specimens were identified by their skull characteristics. the continental specimen has a remarkable shorter rostrum than the other two specimen found in Southeast Pacific. The records of the pygmy killer whale from San Pedro 1 and the dwarf sperm whale caught off Anconcito are the first records of these species for ecuadorean continental waters.
