Le golfe de Gabès est une pêcherie plurispécifique exploitée par plusieurs engins de pêche. Environ 75 % des chalutiers du pays opèrent dans cette zone. Les apports de la pêche au chalut (chalut de fond type crevettier et chalut de fond type méditerranéen) sont très diversifiés. Une analyse multivariée (Analyse en Composante Principale ACP suivie d'une classification ascendante hiérarchique) réalisée sur les captures des marées des chalutiers travaillant dans cette région a permis d'identifier onze (11) types d'activités: deux métiers pour les crustacés, deux métiers pour les céphalopodes, trois métiers pour la pêche des poissons, deux métiers regroupant la crevette, la seiche et les poissons et finalement deux métiers péchant les «divers». Ces métiers sont caractérisés aussi bien par leur composition spécifique que par leur saisonnalité.
امتازت مصيدة خليج قابس بنوعية الأسماك و تعددية وسائل الصيد. مراكب الصيد بالكركارة الموجودة في هذه الجهة تمثـل 75 بالمائـة مـن مجموعها بالجمهورية التونسية. إنتاج الصيد بالكركارة متنوع جدا بالرغم من استعمالـه لوسيلتـي صيد فقط، الكركارة القاعية الخاصة بصيد القمبري و الكركارة القاعية المتوسطية. الطريقة التحليلية متعددة المتغيرات التي طبقناها على معطيات الإنتاج حسب الأنواع المصطادة و حسب خرجـات و وحـدة الصيد بالكركارة في هـذه المنطقـة، مكنتنا من تقسيم الأنشطة إلى 11 نوعـا: مهنتين لصيد القشريات، مهنتين لصيد رأسيات الأرجل،3 لصيد الأسمـاك، نوعان أدمجا صيد القشريات و الحبار و الأسماك في آن واحد و أخيرا مهنتين لصيد أنواع ذات قيمة تجارية ضعيفة. هذه الأنشطـة مميزة بتركيبتها النوعيــة و بمواسمهــــا.
Gabes gulf ( South-Est of Tunisia) is a multi-species and multi-gears fishery area. About 75 % of the Tunisian Trawlers number frequent this area. Productions of the trawl fishing are diversified although only 2 types of gears are used ; shrimp trawl and Mediterranean a trawl (trawl with high vertical opening). A multivariable analysis (PCA and cluster analysis) carried out using one year data identified 11 trawling activities : Two(2) select crustacean, two(2) others catches both shrimp, cuttlefish and fish, two(2) specified in the catch of cephalopods, three (3) are oriented to the exploitation of fish and, finally two(2) activities exploited other species that having less commercial value. These "métiers" are characterized by their typical composition and seasonality.
