Resumo: |
Intercropping of legumes with cereals is a promising possibility to produce fodder protein while creating few costs and using few resources. Practicable cultivation methods of intercropping with protein peas/barley and field beans/oats were developed, both with mixing ratios of 80% and 40%, respectively, of the usual local seeding amount for the single crop (possible for winter crops as well as for spring crops). The grain serves as a support crop, suppresses weeds and provides a risk coverage in years of poor grain legume development. Since 2010, the acreage of organic peas and beans, mostly grown in mixed cultures, has multiplied. This increase was also possible due to mills that buy and separate the yield of intercropping systems into its single components.
