This paper presents the interference caused by sand mining on water quality andquantity partial results of the research project developed in the Quaternary sedimentary aquifer ofthe Paraiba do Sul river floodplain area, east of the Tremembé municipalitie, São Paulo State. Thehydrogeological and hydro-climatic environmental conditions knowledge were made possiblethrough technical procedures by made building for installation issues such as wells and piezometersdrilling, water level logger installation in the piezometers, developing pump tests, climaticmonitoring by automatic weather station installation in the site and cabinet works. The partialresults presented refer to hydro-climatic and hydrological monitoring, enabled by meteorologicaldata collected which includes precipitation, temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speedand direction, solar radiation and sunlight hours, and the data generated from automated levelsensors installated in piezometers, and characterization of aquifer by pump test conducted in the
FAPESP, IG/SP e UNITAU.
