This work was developed from research articles originated from scientific experiments conducted in Campina Grande, with domestic sewage treated initially by UASB anaerobic reactors and then subjected to several types of post-treatments. The efficiencies of the systems were evaluated in all experiments and indicators of nutrients` and pathogens removal, as well as the efficiency in controlling the BOD, COD, solids and fractions, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, fecal, contamination, helminth eggs. Various types of possible treatments, such as: anaerobic filter with baffler, polishing pond, and vegetated and non vegetated wetland bed systems. The experiments reported in scientific articles revealed that post-treatment of type biological filter, based on non vegetated and vegetated wetlands systems and the gravel bed provided good results for irrigation of crops in the northeast, but the concentration of fecal coliforms was above the recommendation by WHO. Among all studied systems, the best result for wastewater irrigation was within the limits set by WHO was the polishing pond. However, with your pH above the average, the system lost Nitrogen and Phosphorous.
