Seen as essential to the preservation of human life, the understanding of how Antarctic natural processes affect global phenomena denotes the scientific importance of this continent to the Planet. Among the research stations, the EACF - Brazilian Comandante Ferraz Station emerged as one of the fastest growing since its establishment, and this fact raises concerns when the production of solid waste per person is measured. Today, the Brazilian station produces about 10 tons of solid waste and there is a need to monitor the impacts on the region, selection and methodologies of solid waste treatment and disposal. This paper focused on the general aspects of solid waste generation in the Brazilian Antarctic station and analyzed the sustainability of the methodology that is being employed.
