Within the SEACASE European project on sustainable extensive and semi-intensive aquaculture in Southern Europe (SEACASE), an information day on integrated multi-trophic aquaculture systems (IMTA) has been organized by Ifremer in Rochefort sur Mer, with the participation of other French partners of the project. After presenting the concept of IMTA, modern polyculture, the contents of the European research project SEACASE, and recent research carried out also were exposed. The interest of these systems and their implementation in future years to develop sustainable aquaculture has been discussed in a debate between the various participants.
Dans le cadre du projet européen sur l’aquaculture durable extensive et semi-intensive en Europe du Sud (SEACASE), une journée d’information sur les systèmes intégrés d’élevage a été organisée par l’Ifremer à Rochefort sur Mer, avec la participation des autres partenaires français du projet. Après une présentation du concept du système intégré multi-trophique, sorte de polyculture moderne, le contenu du projet européen de recherche SEACASE, et des travaux récents de recherche menés par ailleurs ont été exposés. L’intérêt de ces systèmes et de leur mise en place dans les années futures pour développer une aquaculture durable a été discuté dans un débat entre les différents participants à cette journée.
